Trail Ride
Well, guess what I did yesterday! I rode! A horse! WOOT! :) It's been probably well over 20 years since I rode and amazingly enough I survived a 1.5 hour trail ride today. I feel sorry for Buttercup though, she is the sweetest horse putting up with me and my bad posture and horrible reining at times! But all in all, it felt GREAT! It amazed me how quickly I picked it back up and how relaxed I was through 95% of the ride! The other 5% was due to Ellie taking her first fall. I didn't see it but she went head first over Star's head when Star dropped her head suddenly to grab some grass. She was shaken and finished the ride and after we got home she was still complaining of a headache and dizziness so we took her to the emergency room just to be safe. They did a cat scan and sent her home with a clean bill, just to watch her for 24 hours. The doctor said she should have been wearing a helmet. She told him she was and he told her that was great, it probably saved her from a serious head injury! So there is more proof that you must WEAR YOUR HELMET! :)
