I think this about right for the image.. I did have a moment of 'oh no that's going to butcher my average' which is weird because I've never cared before but then I've never maintained a 6+ average for the year.. |

I would love a comment telling me why I suck because I had high hopes for this picture... well higher then a 4.8 at least.

| I've never seen my scores jump around like this! Started off with a 6.6660, then it plummeted to a 4.something, and now it's at 5.5217. About 10 minutes ago it was at 5.9... |

Been a member since late 2005 and I have noticed a real wide flux of roller coaster scoring these past few months...it used to be that when one attained 50 votes you could pretty much look at only attaining .30 difference either up or down. By 100 votes it would be a sure thing either .20 difference either way. Now pffft, no way. Rollercoaster til the about the last 40 votes.

I haven't been a member that long, and I also see some crazy stuff happening lately. My last shot started at 7 and ended in the mid 5s! |

I got a shock this morning...asked for proof. Im not really versed in the procedures but did not know they asked for this even during the challenge? Also the words..." pending further action" has me expecting a letter of demand delivered at my front door any minute..lol. Well I trust this is "normal" even thou after 20 entries this is a first for me. Also in 5 hours no further views or votes on my image which almost makes me wonder if everything gets frozen during this period of Validation? Im sure there are many 7's in this challenge having had a look at the entries which has me wondering why my pic requested for this validation. I can only assume this is a random thing.
Oh well...doesnt make the tension any less for me during this period. You always wonder...am I missing something...did I do something wrong here... |

I was almost to a 5 before I got hit hard. At least the 3 comments tell me that I had the desired effect with my shot. Hope to get a few more similar comments before it is all said and done. |

The most frustrating thing about this site is the freakin people who would not have the decency to explain if they give a 1. if you are going to give a 1...do so with constructive critisism. I cant believe that people actually would vote and do this. Where are you guys? I think this site is plagued by gost voters who have a sadistic attitude. It is in the site counsils hands to do something about this. It would be the single most helpfull thing to help improve us struggling, learning photographers. Sure it's nice to see the people's out there with great pictures and we learn allot from it. But if we cant learn from our mistakes (eg getting a 1, 2, 3 as the rules states please comment and be helpfull)
For crying out loud please. Im sure this topic have been debated over and over and I dont even need to search the threads. In the last 6 votes I recieved my average dropped so much and with calculations I got an average of 3. Where is the comments helping me understand this? Something needs to be done about this. it needs to be doen not to expose people but
1 in the interest of helping people - idiots like me
2 In the inetrest of photography
3 In the interest of sanity for any legal member here at dpc...For me its to late. I have lost it and am certifiable
