Mine is not changing too much. I have been sitting at between 6.35 and 6.44 for the last two days.

I don't think I've ever seen a challenge with so many score "bumps", either up or down. I've had my score go up +14 in one vote, -7 without the vote total changing and some +1s & -1s.
It'll be interesting to see what the scrubber does at the end. |

I am in the same boat...the more challenges I participate in, the worse I get LOL. I'm sitting at a 4.3?? in the other challenge right now. Think maybe, I need some side challenges for awhile??? Hmmmm....might get my creative juices flowing again and just enjoying my camera. Right now, I want to throw it and my computer through the window LOL ;P |

I'm sad to see/hear your frustration. I hope that you would remember that this is about what it means to you. This thinking was never so evident to me as when you took the time, and went through a most meticulous and thoughtful commentary on an image of mine some time back. This one....
I had shot this late one night after leaving the hospital after visiting my father-in-law. For some odd reason, walking across that dark, empty lobby, I saw this wheelchair, and it struck me that the likelihood of him leaving the hospital under his own steam, or at all, was very unlikely. He was in a coma that he never came out of and he died shortly thereafter. I actually managed to capture that mood as I saw it then, and can still see it even now, almost three years later.
Somehow, you managed to pick up on it that this image had real meaning to whomever shot it, and at the time when you made your comments, I was struck deeply by your insight. Obviously, you made an incredible impression about who you are as well.
So I would just hope that for you, the photography would be for so much more than a mere score since you're so insightful and comprehending.
Just sayin'.......8>)

Glad, I came upon this website. But, I have a long way to go in my photography. Anyway, my question is how do I check my information on the picture I submitted in the Egg II, votes, etc. Can anyone help me? |

In the drop-down menu from "My Home", select "Preferences", right below your camera(s) and lens selections, you'll see "Site Preferences". In "Home Preferences", tick the box marked "My Scores". Then it'll show up on your home page.

True. Plus for the update button you get an unlimited fix for $25.00 a year. How's that for a cheap habit. LOL. Then again, that $25 a year update button is just the carrot on the stick. Once you're sucked in you start spending hundreds or thousands on new camera bodies and lenses not to mention all the other acessories available such as strobes, filters, carbon tripods. The list goes on and on. Welcome to the machine. LOL. |

Awww...Jeb...you've made me cry with your sincere post. I do remember that shot so well because it caught a chord in me so deeply that it actually had me choked right up. There was and still is a depth to that shot that hit me very deeply. It had more meaning to me than anything I had seen. :)
Thank you for reminding me of that because it was a highly underrated shot and that was a shame.
You've just inspired me to go back to shooting what has meaning to me instead of what may "please" or capture scores. I've kind of lost my track in chasing scores and lost what has meaning to me. Thanks Jeb. That is what photography is supposed to be about for me...capturing a moment in time with some meaning somehow, somewhere and to some depth.

My image is just average as usual. However, I just updated my score from the last regular update at 11:10 PM (local time) and my score went down by a total of 5 votes (avg. score multiplied by # of votes) in 30 minutes. Oh well...
