I rated everything else between 6 and 7, with a 5 as something I thought was completely off (which was rare).
I've never given anything below a 5, and a 5 was a rare.
Please tell me if this seems reasonable and if not, where do I go to review scores and voting. |
According to the scores in here....you're being MORE than fair :)
Each person seems to have their own voting system/scoring method and criteria. What one person sees as a 10, another sees as a 3 or 1. I used to NEVER hand out anything lower than a 5 either...unless it was DNMC (does not meet challenge) and even then, I had a hard time giving anything below a 4. But, I'm seeing now that a lot of voters will give 1 to 3 scores out like candy LOL. I think that it's all up to each individual but, you are certainly being more than a lot of voters are with 5 being your bottom line and you've certainly got a system of your own that makes a lot of sense! | its ok memex2... i have an ave. scoring system of about a 7.0... so dont feel like you score too high because if anyone does.. its me! HAHA |

| memex2: I think that voting is a rather subjective thing. If you ask 5 different DPC Members, I'm sure you'll get 12 different answers. Personally, I embrace the 1 through 10 scale. The average vote I cast is around 5 as I view each challenge as a kind of a bell curve with majority of the images being somewhere in the middle. Having said that 1s, 2s, 9s, and 10s for me are VERY VERY rare. Those images basically have to generate a strong emotional response either positive or negative (for negative...this is usually just piss-poor technical execution or a lack of trying in my opinion). When I finish voting on a challenge, I review the images in all my numbered groups and if necessary adjust the votes based on the overall population of shots. Take it for what it's worth. |

Yep I had spoke WAAAAYYY too soon. It had crept up quite nicely yesterday...and I woke up this morning to see it tanking. It rose yesterday by 0.5 and overnight went down 0.6. Does that mean today it will rise by 0.7? |
