Andy walked me through the process in MS Digital Image Pro 9 and this is my first try at selecting something or using de-sat. I am so happy tonight to even get this far, even if it isn't the greatest. Thank you, Andy!

Cool.

Funny thing is that I discovered a new way myself for desat. I guess now I now 3 ways to desat in PS. The more you play with the software the more fun techniques you learn.

Very cool, Kylie! I think it's great for your first try! And don't let the "down with desat" crowd get to you...a lot of people are closet desat lovers! :o)

Wow, that looks nice Kylie. I keep working in PS too but do not have anything that nice to show for it yet. LOL

Very nice, and you couldn't have picked a better color. I love the yellow against the deepend (almost purple-ish) background. Great Job.

You'll have lots of fun with this effect.

Thanks to all the supportive words, especially from "awpollard" (Andy) who helped me so much.

Kylie, I think you will find it a very satisfying technique to use.
Some people are under the impression that it is very difficult and not suitable for "basic editing" challenges...this very much depends on the way you do it.
My post processing skills are minimal and I desat the easy way.. but there are still some images that I have given this treatment that are amongst my favourites (and all suitable for using in "basic editing" challenges.)
