This is NOT your thread. DeSousa started the original posthumous ribbons post.

That may be so, but he did it because of posthumous, not because he accidentally used the word posthumous and it was the same word as the user name of some guy. And this thread was started by that very guy, so shutting it down in a hissy fit asking that it be closed seems rather reasonable. What's your beef, anyway? :P

Hmmmmmmm.... it could be argued that the request should have come from the originator of the thread, nomenclature notwithstanding.

In any event, all is moot at this juncture.

SC, please close this thread and consign it to history.

Technically I think he is the originator of this particular thread :)

Regardless of who started the idea :)

I can't believe people thought folks had died. Sorry, that makes me chuckle. Why close the thread? It's been ongoing for a long time, giving people the opportunity to expose images they thought were under appreciated.

I'm pretty sure Don's point was a new thread would be appropriate with a new name, since he was no longer going to be around to give out Posthumous awards. After all, this is the FOURTH iteration of this thread and it's gotten pretty large, it's about time to start thread-the-5th.

Anyway, it's all moot, since saner heads have prevailed...

If you put it in that perspective then simply perusing a photo challenge website seems so utterly/rediculous miniscule...

Welcome to the "utterly/rediculous miniscule" club.

Oh I found the part where posthumous wanted to close the thread. I get it.

I do like the idea of this though. Who wants to start the new one?

For quite sometime I have been contemplating my own award for this thread. Being who I am I did not really want to just make a standard ribbon. Since I feel my only true talent is making people laugh (and even that is debatable if you ask my wife) I decided I would make an award for the image that made me laugh, or brought a smile to my face. Obviously this won't happen in every challenge since there is not always someone going for the laugh. However, if you are unfortunate enough to be singled out by me for this ribbon, you may grace your profile with what I am calling:

The Smardaz Smile of Approval!

ok....well this is an auspicious beginning, i cant get the image to post!

well how about the thumb then

If he does kill the thread, can we post in it posthumously?

Welcome to the "utterly/rediculous miniscule" club.

With everything going on in the world it is places like this that bring a little humanity back into the picture where friends can be made even when they are worlds apart.
With everything going on in the world this is someplace to escape and enjoy some of the little things in life that are too often not appreciated.
With everything going on in the world our little "miniscule" place here is a way to bring a miniscule little planet (compared to the universe) closer together.

"Utterly rediculous" [sp] or "miniscule" aside your opinion is heard but you know what they say about those?

Ok soap box empty for the next guy.

Orange II

Well, it looks like some of my top picks were not seen the same way by a majority of the voters.

Absolutely loved this one, and it came in 109th ==> , by Ammie
These also placed at 100 or lower ==> , by kleski and , by farfel53

A few other 10's I dished out that came up short IMO:
, by essay, , by androgeus, , by Lonni
