Here's a link to an interesting article in the Los Angeles Times. Lillian Bassman was a noted fashion photographer who threw in the towel back in the '60's. Now, she's making a comeback at the age of 93. There's hope for us senior citizens. |

Germaine, what an amazing article! I would say her style of art was ahead of her time -- but as famous as she was, I guess it's more like that style of art was destined to get expressed and find its place in the world. I love LOVE her style, don't you?

I loved the part about where she was manipulating negatives with beach, brushwork, etc. Now she's going great guns with Photoshop.

Wow!! Anyone up for a trip to the gallery in Santa Monica currently displaying her work? I haven't time to check at the moment, but will later as to how long the display is up. |

I've been to her exhibit here in San Diego 3-4 years ago, love her work. Her prints are simply glowing. Thanks for posting the article! |
