Drool.....wish.

Think I could trade in my broken 40D for a 4D-40? Ha! Too rich for my blood. :)

I love the sound of the "True Focus" system! Now, where can I find me $20,000?

Wouldn't it be fun to borrow one for a week?

If everyone pitched in and got me one, that would be a great "get well" present! :P

It gets worse... the H4D-40 is a new addition at the *low end* of the H4D series.

It's an interesting approach to the problem, but I fail to see how selective AF points are as tedious as they imply. Strikes me like a late-night infomercial telling me how hard it is to crack an egg. It's like they chose the most complex way of approaching the problem...
Besides, how many times would you use a medium format camera in a situation where the scene is changing very quickly?
Medium format surely has its own perks and I'm not arguing that, just wondering how necessary this addition was.

Actually, if it's well implemented, it might just be a real advantage. It's not targeted at shooting fast-moving scenes, it's targeted at folks who focus and recompose. The system can track the camera movement between the focus lock and shutter firing, and compensate to make sure the focus plane is in the right place. So if you happen to unintentionally rock forward slightly as you recompose, your focus plane will still be where you intended it to be.
Now, if the subject moves, you're still screwed... but still.

I like the fact they keep mentioning how the younger crowd doesn't know that Blads produce better images than any 35mm DSLR. Are they targeting this 20,000 dollar camera to the young? Good luck with that.
