Having looked at best of 2008 And comparing...this score will just make the top 40. Very happy with 6.5 and hope it stays right there. The above 7's are def not posting here.I have given so many scores between 8 &10 its not even funny anymore. |

I'm okay with this - everytime I get a comment, the score goes up! then it drops. And then I get a comment. Keep 'em coming.

I've been holding back, not wanting to jinx myself. I was down to 6.3 for awhile, crawled up slowly through kind votes and comments. I hit 6.6 momentarily today, then dropped to 6.59 again. Somehow tonight I've again climbed to 6.6, if I could hang here I'd be amazed. Love the commments and my single fav, thanks all so much-

As a PennyStreet fan, I find this hard to believe. You continue to be so underrated. Hope you continue to do what you do. |

Sigh, looks like I'll have to content myself with 5.8 if I'm lucky. |

I predict this will place 58th or 59th. I did not do the best job of looking through my 2009 work so I ended up picking the one I entered in the last day of the deadline becasue I had already done quite a bit work on it and had not previously entered it. I love it but did not expect it to score int eh top 10%.
There are some great shots this year! |

Always happy to finish with a score above my average, which this is nearly at, but I had hoped it would do better. Knew I should have put in the other image...darn it!!.
Lots of comments which is nice but it's a bit out of the box so they were expected.
Will be happier if I can finished above this score ... 5.7 or higher would be nice. |

I'm not complaining since normally my free studies don't get above 5.
In a way this is already a small personal victory

I'm most happy with all the comments and critiques. Now if the score could stay roughly where it is or move up that would be a bonus:-) |

Nah! I think that there's a shift in voter's tastes. It seems that half want "traditional DPC" and the other half wants "something different". We'd need a crystal ball to know what works and what doesn't. Just be YOU and do YOUR thing! :) I greatly admire your work. :) |

Well, not horrible but not great either. Middle of the road, ho-hum score. I guess this is my "comfort zone"??? Anything below a 5 is deflating, anything above a mid-five and I'm leaping out of my seat! When I get into the 6 range, I start needing to be scraped off the ceiling LOL! Someone hand me a life?! ;)

What really sucks is when you start going through the tons of pictures you have taken over a years time and you find some raw image that pops out at you and you say that's it! You edit the way you want and submit it. Wow it is doing good too, hanging in the 6.??? area from the very start with great comments. Then there is this sick feeling in your gut that says you have made a big mistake. You quickly look at your profile pictures and sure as crap there it sits from a entry you entered the same photo in last January only it's B&W with a different crop. There lies the definition of the phrase "That Sucks"! So what else can you do but do a self disqualification. I think I will just go to Yosemite tomorrow and shoot something new in the snow. Good luck everybody!!! There are some great photographs in there. |

Is it the exact same frame? And was it entered in an official challenge? If so, then yes, you need to DQ it. If it was a separate frame but of the same scene, not a problem. If it was entered in a side challenge or just posted to your portfolio, also not a problem. |

Hmmm...could have a problem with this (bold added for emphasis):

I don't think you're allowed to self-DQ based on what's been said thus far...however, I think SC may have some leeway on this. |

finished my 5th pass of voting refinement... now I consider myself done with voting. Still need to make a pass though to comment on some of the photos.
Hoping I get to 6.

They do - people have requested DQs based on their realization that they did something outside of the ruleset before. It isn't a problem. I don't think they even send the electric shock over the 'net, or Ken with the flamethrower.... :-) |

Just general info: If you self-report an infraction you will get a DQ, as appropriate. The main difference in a self-DQ (besides what qualifies) is that the image is removed from the results. So it really doesn't matter if you qualify.
But self-reporting a rules infraction is generally less likely to get you a penalty (suspension) on the next DQ than if we determine you broke the rules.
