I'm back from the dead to start the annual American Idol thread for Season 9!
For those who don't know me, hello, I'm Buzz, and this is kinda a tradition of mine.
 alanfreed tried to steal my thunder one year, but trust me, this is the official thread :)
So with about one hour until the start of season 9 (east coast), I welcome all who are obsessed with idol like I to Chime in and give your thoughts.
Lets hope for some great talent and some horrible ones too, and a fun season of Idol!

Bummer, I have to put this thread on ignore this year. The show wont be starting here for a couple of weeks and this thread will certainly have spoilers in it. My temptation to look will only be stronger if I see the thread on front page so I am going to make sure it doesn't show up there. Ill will take it off ignore at the end of the season and give it a read and post my favs of the season etc.
Another Bummer is that Simon will be leaving the show at the end of this season. Won't be quite the same without him. Alright. I'll be back to visit this thread in a few months. |

| Two hours tonight, so enjoy it. Ellen starts on the show first week in Feb....and.... this is Simon's LAST SEASON! omg! |

Is that for sure? Last I heard it was just rumors... I wouldn't be interested if he left. |

I'm excited.
I'll miss bubble head Paula. I got a kick out of her. Hopefully she'll be on X-Factor next year.
Who will could take Simon's place? |

Yep... it's much more than a rumor now. He has confirmed it. I can't imagine the show being anywhere near as compelling without him. Maybe they can get that Balloon Boy dad to take his place. I dunno. |

| Just my opinion, but balloon boy's dad might have just as much business judging music as Ellen will, lol. Is she on for comic relief or because she can judge stage presence? This one threw me... |

One stand out for me--
Kid with the casts. Drummer dude.. loved him.
Also Dude who sang Beatles-- on the boston tourist ship thingy.

I liked Katie and her voice is just amazing for such a young lady. Love her story, too! :)
This is going to be a very interesting year. There are a couple of really good people.
Travis,(kid w/casts) had a very soulful voice I thought. The lower notes were just smooooooth! :) |

| Just finished catching up on Tues & Weds shows. Really enjoyed Amadeo (big Italian guy) and Bossa's (Nigerian guy) voices and their stories, but the kid with the casts his voice was really amazing. |

I nearly fell off my chair when Brett Favre sang Pants on the Ground after winning the playoff game yesterday!

she's not my favorite, but I'm very surprised that she's gone. There are many others that should have gone before her.
