Ok, this kind of stinks -- I'm not able to enter this week!!!! A bird challenge -- specifically a bird challenge, and I'm not going to be in it.

I got some great bird shots, but that was back in October!!
And it wasn't in TX, which is where I'm stuck!

With extended family that wouldn't appreciate me running off to photograph birds. My DPC entries are over for the year starting this morning. I got my free study in, and I just made 100 challenges for the year, though!! yippee!

Yay! I volunteered to work this week, so there won't be any excuses for me to not get dressed and go out. And lucky me, I work smack dab in the middle of a wetlands reserve. Camera is definitely coming to work with me this week.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Oh, I'm gonna loove trying to get something for this challenge. It's not the right time where I see alot of the wild birds I love to shoot the most, but it will be very therapeutic to try -- and I am going to love voting on this one! Good luck everyone!

Turns out there's some pretty good winter birding areas just west of here. I've never been and I'm gonna go do some scouting and then check it out early AM Saturday. We'll see how the 300mm with the 1.4x does and if the resultant f/5.6 is too slow for early morning stuff.

It looks like from the interest that there are a lot birders here, I think it would be fun to not label what the bird is and let people identify it. Kind of like the puzzle macro challenge, puzzle bird challenge. Could make it more interesting, no?
