HERE ARE MY shots that I took but didn't submit.
I'm very curious if people believe 'Shattered Skyy' would have been received worse or better than my entry "get cool" :) ... or any of the others, for that matter ....
thanx!

I liked 'get cool' but I think Shattered Skyy is a better shot. Actually I like the shot of the bank too...
By the way... HERE are my outakes... Did my 'color correction' hurt or help me? Did I pick the wrong shot?
Thanks

I much prefer 'get cool'. I find the background too cluttered in 'Shattered Skyy'.

These are my blue outtakes. My entry was the Bluescape landscape picture which was likely too boring, although it was my personal favorite due to composition, emotional tone (serene) and color.
Do you think any of these was much better? My this week's challenges are really doing bad. I think I may start submitting my third choice next week!!

I really liked the Blue Flame Best picture. I'd have scored that highly.

My daughter liked the blue flame best the best, too. She wouldn't look at my pics for this week's challenge, darn her!!

hey myq
a) i think the color changes you did really added. good job.
b) i like the shot you picked, but the one blowing bubbles might also have been a strong contender.
cute little girl! :)

Maybe this week I'll get mine done before Sat and get some friend opinions. There's a nice guy on another site that is really great to help me evaluate my shots, as I obviously don't do that great with them. I messed up a bit on photojournalism even though I got a pretty high score and placement, would likely have been in the top ten with just a crop and if I knew how to adjust levels to brighten it up a bit.

I don't have outakes to show, but I have taken the comments I got, and tried acting on them. I have put my attempts here. I very much doubt that any of them would have got me a significantly higher score, but I found it an interesting exercise.

I had one Blue Alternate, but people also seem to not like overtly funny photos either... |

Here is my blue alternate, that unfortunately I could not post due to time constraints (I got it taken in time, but didn't get it editted in time.) PS2alternate
I think this would've done better than 157th or whatever I ended up.

it's a good photo, in terms of lighting, color, and other physical attributes : ) . . .
i think maybe if it were a little less busy, and it was more apparent how the stuff there made the blue hand, it might carry more impact of content :)

i like 'retake 12 alternative crop' the best. it's the most interesting compositional representation of a pretty straightforward object. for shots like this, i recommend doing things to make your light source more diffuse and less point-source. ie bounce it off a large white thing ontho the object, OR put a sheet in front of it (the light), not right in front of it, but a foot or more. that will really broaden and soften the light and let you get the scene brighter without burning hot spots.

kandy: i liked blue flame, alot. but i'm glad you submitted the shot you did. it's fantastic. i believe i gave it a ten.
here are some of my outtakes that i took the night of the deadline, and here's the rest of them that i took before (actually not for the challenge).

technically it's a great shot, attractive model.
however the neck bend looks kind of uncomfortable or painful :)

Thanks Mag!
That's the one I entered - and thanks also for the diffused light source suggestion - it's definitely something I'll try next time...

TerryGee - As requested there is now a blue pencil on a bright white background here, and I am pleased you suggested it, because I quite like it!

I ask and it happens...cool
here's the one I did of yours payneki...diffuse. It is high contrast though, and not too good...
I think you should sharpen yours a touch(boy am I picky)
