First attempt at making a background out of focus.
Any comments, advice, or whatever is accepted.

I like the blurred background. You did a pretty good job on it, IMHO. There are some places around her waist and her left wrist (around the green bracelet) that could be cleaned up a tad, but overall, good job.

PS - congrats on the book. Hope it's selling like hotcakes! :o)

Excellent 1st attempt, better than most 1st tries I've seen. There are just a couple areas where you got a little close, the top of the backpack is where I notice it.

Where I made my mistake when I started blurring was to hurry the masks, and not zooming in enough while creating those masks. I now zoom to about 400%, and when creating the mask I error on the side of the background. I will feather the edge maybe 1 or 2 before applying the gaussian blur.

You did do an excellent job here.
