If you're bored and have nothing more interesting to do, I'd love help narrowing down what photos to send in to a juried art show. This show is in Minnesota, and was the first competition that I ever entered. That was about 10 years ago now, and I'd love to do well in the show, or at least get something accepted!! I can submit as many as I would like (that's a change from previous years.) Can only have 3 accepted. The most I've had accepted is 2.

These are the ones between which I'm deciding:

if you're really bored, feel free to browse through my portfolio to see if I was stupid in my picks and if I should have selected something else.

This is an important show for me, so I'd really love any input. I'm trying to narrow it down to 5 entries.

thanks!!

I personally love this one ...but if I were to enter it into a show...I think I would add a "soft gaussian blur" to give it that dreamy childlike feel...(just JMO)

and I would consider adding these....

(hmmmm why would I pick that one...)
these are a good representation of your area...for days gone by

you have more that I would pick since the # is per say "unlimited" but for me these are the best...I would also consider some of your Williamsburg shots...they are "area" related...usually a stronger entry for a local contest (if this is one of those)

Thanks Janine and Jonathan!!

I like the washtub, too, but can't have anything too topazed or HDR'd--just the typical stuff you can do in regular darkroom processing -- color, dodge/burn, levels.

and because they are so "Norman Rockwell", and for their strong nature subject matter.

With the blue bit either cropped or softened and a little more contrast on the bird I think this could be a contender.

Just a few others to consider.

actually, it's in Minnesota and I'm in Virginia. I lived in Minnesota most of my life, and my family is still back there. This is actually a show that my mother-in-law convinced me to enter about 10 years ago. And I've gotten something accepted each time I've entered, though have only ribboned a few times, and those were mostly honorable mention. It's a wonderful show, but it's been a number of years since I've entered. Last time I checked, they were only accepting about a third of the entries (and that's when you were limited in the number you could enter.) Since it's appeared to have grown even more since then, I'm afraid the competition will be very keen...
