For the first time in the few submissions I have made I have got 58 votes and not a single comment. It must leave all who view it breathless. Of course my score would say otherwise. It is suprising though, not even a single, I hate it, or no imagination, or doesn't meet challenge, or that's gross, or too grainy, or even just a plain I like it, etc.
I am actually hoping that I don't get any comments just so I can go on saying that everyone is breathless. Has any one ever not got a single comment on an image? If not I would like to be the first.

My picture in the Centered Composition had 162 votes and only 2 comments. I think people are busier at this time of year in the Northern Hemisphere and they don't have as much time to comment. Now that it's starting to be summer there is gardening and yard work to be done. |

These past few weeks have been finals for most everyone I know, including myself. I don't know if that really effects commmenting, but I guess it could. |

I'm currently on 102 votes and not a comment in sight. I'd really like one to tell me why my entry deserves the low score people are dishing out. :( |

Hi, everyone -- I'm an amateur photographer, am new to this site and get a wealth of inspiration from everyone here. I do think that one should take the time to comment on the ratings being given. Unfortunately, I haven't voted yet on any challenge because voting AND submitting thoughtful comments requires more time than I've had.
I guess my question is, if the comments are supposed to be helpful, is it better to have more votes and fewer comments? ("If you can't say anything useful, don't say anything at all"?) Or is it better to have fewer votes with more comments, even if a large number are vague like "I just didn't like it?" Would love to hear people's thoughts on this. |

It seems like there are too many challenges going on for anyone to spend much time voting or commenting. I haven't seen many of either on my two current ones ever since "banana day".

Maybe everyone went "bananas" and lost their ability to post anything other than a political comment in the rant forum... :o)
