I would like to see Free Study rules changed to allow triptychs and diptychs entered into each free study.

I agree with that. Not sure how hard it would be for the SC to judge but it seems like fair game.

I do a lot of triptych work and shoot frames occasionally with them in mind so, it would work well, for a Street style I'm trying to develop and get recognized.

It would have been nice if the first two especially, found their way into a Free Study. Most of my editing is pretty basic in the grand scheme of things but again, each ones of those would have been illegal in this Challenge, if not for slight vignetting or some other minor tweaks. So, I'm out of this one.

Can someone send me a link telling how to process three images for a triptych? And how to create those nice effects and borders on them? I know the question is a little boring but anyway. I need some help.

A quick question - I'm trying to make my 3 images, but I need to past them into a new file all together - this means the EXIF data won't show, right?

How do I do this ensuring the EXIF data remains? EEK!

The file you submit for the challenge does not need EXIF data. The ORIGINAL image files you used to make up the final entry do need the EXIF data. Good luck!

Thanks :) So I'm presuming we have to upload our 3 original photos for validation?

Quick question about creating the triptych. Is it beyond Basic Editing rules to paste 2 images on top of a third one?

Fine as long as the opacity is 100%

Not in this challenge, no. They have a special rule in place. Ordinarily, that would be illegal in ANY challenge.

Crap!!!
I spent all day editing this to submit for the trip challenge and as I was filling out the info to upload I realized the images were shot two days before the challenge began..... so I can't enter it. Wish I would have paid attention to that before deciding to spend a whole day editing.

Well I'm in now with something else that was shot within the shooting dates of this challenge... so here we go everyone.... Hello again update button... my old friend.

I'm in.. but now I'm questioning (probably like everyone else) whether my image is legal. I edited the three separate images before compiling the flattened triptych. Is that ok or are you supposed to flatten the unedited versions and then edit??? I DO NOT want to be disqualified!

I think you're okay as long as it was done under basic editing rules. Each photo is going to need it's own editing then you combine them.

Anyone else can pop in here if I'm wrong.

All three were edited acording to basic then added to the blank image and flattened. GOD this would be so much easier if it was advanced. oy vey!

I would just like to state, for the record, that the Triptych I saw in my mind's eye was AWESOME, and would have won all three ribbons...it was that good.

The one I actually executed and submitted....ehhhhh, not so much.
