When I first joined this site, I was getting 3's and 4's, now I'm getting 5's and 6's In this way, my avg. vote received, is dragged down because half of my images are below a 5. What can i possibly do! I like how it shows my evolution and skill level, but I don't think any of those photos now represent me as a photographer. I want DPC to be my online portfolio, seeing as it is easy, populated, and I've paid for a membership. I don't what people to look at my page and see that half of my photos are below a 5/10 and judge me by what they see at first. Not sure exactly what I can do.
If anyone has any ideas about where I can move my portfolio so i don't have this record of bad photos from my past? or how I could make a site to host my photos. What's the easiest way to do that. if I wanted to show someone my photography, I'd send them here. Any suggestions?

I don't think any of us are as bad as we once were. LOL!
I think we're all in your same situation.
Just enter lots of challenges and it will lessen the impact of the lower scores. |

personally i like flickr for an easy place to dump photos. with a free account there is a limit to how much you can upload, but the pro account isn't very expensive. a couple of my friend's like google's picasa. both let you create sets and easily organize your photos. there aren't any scores up there ;)
you could also look into developing a webpage, but that's a bit more complex |

With only 38 challenges entered, your good scores are having more effect on your average than mine are. A 6+ might bring my average up by 1/100 of a point. I hit 5.30 the beginning of may and just went over 5.33 the other day.
I'm not sure I understand the problem. Is it average score, or are you embarrassed by the lower scores you used to get?
Nevermind. I read your post again. If you want it to be DPC, how about showing off your best stuff in those places on your profile page you can control. That is the bio area, which is free-form, and the "selected photos" section.

Here is a good example of someone who is displaying what she wants in those areas: idnic
(admittedly she also has awesome stuff in her top 5, but ignore that for the moment) |

I think it would be nice to have the option to enable or disable certain parts of the profile page. I know I get tired of seeing the same Highest Rated Photographs on my profile page. I'd like to be able to disable it and show something else from time to time. Some examples would be most favorite photographs or gallery specific photographs, most recent, etc, etc.
