Hahaha...the photo has now been validated - unanimously...WHAT A SURPRISE ! Post the original photo with the big glob of a logo ON THE SUBJECT so I can laugh my ass off at SC. Like I said before, that logo would have changed the whole way the distributions of the votes. You would have seen many more 5's in the tally.

From past experience on reading comments from DPC members here are some comments you would have seen on this photo....IMO OF COURSE....

Oooo such a beautiful picture, too bad about the logo...

Oooooo what a nice entry, would have given a 10 but that logo just prevents me from doing so...

Ooooooo great shot..nice lines...but that logo leads my eye to one spot on the photo...I can't get past it....

Oooooooooooooooooo

The rule doesn't state the that cloning out of something must be unnocitibale from the original. Of course it would be distraction and probably hurt the score. That's most likely why she cloned it out, and it's perfectly legal.

Otherwise, why allow any removal of anything that was in the original image, like power lines?

Your argument was perfect for why it shouldn't be legal, because in your eyes, it would hvae effected the score because it was more than a minor element. In my opinion, a minor element, such as a powerline in the top corner of the image, or a dust spec, is something that wouldn't really effect the score if it had been there.

I disagree, a power line running through the top of the screen would be a distraction that lowers the score. Otherwise, why remove it?

Then I agree, scratch that out too.

Wow, this photo has been validated and is acceptable? Knew it from the beginning. Just glad to be able to show the blatant favoritism that happens around here finally. I know the other folks who tend to side with SC will not agree, but others who may be new, or just logical and fair will hopefully see this before they get their hopes up of doing well on here. This is one of the other reasons I do not enter challenges much anymore.

I hear you. I quit entering challenges too, because site favorites like Irenem, and the rest of them were hogging all the front page spots.

;)

It's a good thing for you that there's a fool born every minute otherwise you might have to actually retire this act.

Now this is pretty funny.

Are you for real? Haven't participated in a challenge for over a year? So what?!?!?!

Yes, I am quite for real. *grin*

The name of the site IS DPChallenge. It's all about the challenges really, huh?

The forums are a side item to accompany the challenges and I'm glad to have them, but the site is a photography contest.

WAIT YOU MEAN NOT EVERYONE USES THIS WEBSITE FOR THE SAME REASON YOU DO?! HOW DARE WE!

But seriously, the forum information, to me, is much more valid and beneficial then winning a ribbon ever could be.

Yet still, the forum logo and description is up at the top left of every page for all of us to see.

I'll chat with you later about a different subject, perhaps. I'm through here.

Has-been. You haven't ribboned in ages. And that Yanko guy hardly enters anymore either. I think you're both just a'fear'd of Irene, yes you are....

That really hurts Deb. ;) Truthfully I quit trying when yanko dropped out of the challenges. It sure was fun to beat him with a silly landscape shot. :)

Rugman why don't you put your money where your mouth is and take a pic of your precious Ford or what ever you want, clone out the bullet holes logos and enter it in to a FS and see what happens...

Im sure even with the brown ribbon you wouldn't get DQ'd ;-)

Any suggestion that we play favorites (on EITHER side of a DQ) is simply idiotic since anyone who bothered to look would see that IreneM, myself and most other SC, and all but 3 members on the site favorites list have been DQ'd at least once. Mistakes happen, but we do NOT play favorites.

Man! I knew I was better than most of the SC!!! :P

Re: frisca, i know nothing.

You're exactly right. Losing to those exotic Iceland landscapes were tough enough, not to mention the frozen waterfalls, the swirling leaf pools, the lighthouses, the piers, etc. Then there were your landscapes with only TREES in them! I knew right then that I had to quit. :P

I wasn't going to post in here, but this little snippet from Melethia just made me bust a gut! The tone of voice I 'heard' it in was perfect too.

I don't think I have anything that would score well but I can find something to enter. At the very least I should have something that beats Scalvert, but who doesn't when it comes to free studies?

It'll make the September FS interesting - I'll be watching for the outcome. And for the record, should I enter, I'd wager you'll both beat me by at least a full point. And I haven't even shot for it yet.

Tonight I will burn Irene in effigy in honor of rugman. ...or vice versa. I'll flip a coin so as not to play favorites.

I used to complain that people took this site too seriously until I realized it creates the drama that keeps the peanut gallery entertained. :)

rugman1969, you haven't entered a challenge in over a year. The best to learn the rules is to enter the challenges. Sitting back and watching others enter is great...but you won't know unless you get your feet wet....don't worry...we won't let you drown. Well....maybe Art would...lol!

Deb, why don't you come up with something "fun" for the loser?

What he said. And it makes interesting reading too. ROFL!

And we all know I'm your favorite. LOL!

Hmmm.... I can make Yanko shoot landscapes with only trees (hard to find more than one at a time where he lives) and make you shoot haggard looking birds in dark places... :-)

I put in too much effort to enter for Free, but you're welcome to value your work as you see fit. ;-P

I wish irene would post the original.. I'd like to see this so called logo that seems to dominate the image. I think if it was so prominant.. I would probobly notice that it was missing from this very very busy detailed image.

btw.. I don't like Irene's photos.. her subjects bore me.. she takes pictures of junk and makes it look interesting. It all looks like stock photography to me... Either way, she didn't break any rules.. haha get it? rules? lol

It's absolutely obsurd to say she passed because she is a favorite. I bet half the SC looks at her photography the same way I do.. boring:P

Sry Irene.. I'm not out to hurt your feelings:)

and remember, Intelli, whether we PERSONALLY like her photos, we have NO influence on her score, at least no more than any other voter. How people get to be our "favourites" is beyond me. We appreciate members who contribute and are polite, but that doesn't mean we aren't as nice to those who are less than mannered.
