I've just returned from a year in Asia and I think that Westerners as a whole need to re-think a lot of their ideas. We are not looked apon fondly by most of the world and rightly so. There are a lot of arrogant people in the west, unfortunately, with a lot of money/power. Maybe they should leave the West for a while to put some perspective on the way they live.
Back to the oil problem. The technology is already there but it doesn't earn as much money as oil. Simple as that.
Hoogie, pretty agressive, but overall and generally, you're right mate. Sad but true.

Look i certainly dont want to argue with you (because you are a lady) but im afraid that comment shows you arnt aware of what is really going on.
Its all about oil tolovemoon , with out going into depth USA had major oil contractors ready to claim/take over the oil prior to the invasion.
And im afraid it has nothing to do with liberation and that has become clear to all the world except some americans.
I dont blame you for not understanding as your system makes you that way.
Do some research and open your eyes, dont be blinded by patriotism.
I apologise for swearing but with peolpe like Chrisw123 around who promote murder and justify killing for oil make me sick.
Thank you for the comments about the photos. |
I know he has been removed but to clear the record for some and so that I am not accused of not understanding the system I live in.......I'm sure he will be back reading this.....
I also made sure that my facts were straight and did a research enough to come to this conclusion......
I am sure there are people that dislikes Americans and thinks we are all a "bunch of bullies".....If that was the case that we are bullies then all Iraq people are terroist....
HAHAHA Some could not even hurt a fly!!!
There is so much good in Both America and Iraq as well as the intire world! We cannot cover all the good there is so much.....The bad only gets noticed because of its harmfull threats towards mankind and humanism!
First I'd like to point out the main #1 reason for the war in Iraq
is this 9/11
If its so that America is in Iraq for just oil why is there
660 million barrels in reserve,
When Oil in Iraq is only producing 2 million barrels a day that Americans used tax dollars to help Iraq rebuild the pumps that pump out the oil that hardly worked when Saddam Hussein was in control!!
ARABIC NEWS says this
"Bush also enumerated significant accomplishments in rebuilding Iraq's infrastructure. The coalition, he noted, has already helped refurbish more than 2,200 schools, 240 hospitals and 1,200 health clinics, repaired bridges, upgraded the electrical grid, and modernized the communications system. Oil production now exceeds 2 million barrels a day, bringing revenues of nearly $6 billion so far this year, revenues that are being used to help the people of Iraq, according to the president." More hereArabic news
Also in case you dont understand Why Americans are in IRAQ
this is also stated hereArabic news
"Noting that the terrorists' "only influence is violence, and their only agenda is death" the president said: "The rise of a free and self-governing Iraq would deny terrorists a base of operation, discredit their narrow ideology, and give momentum to reformers across the region. This would be a decisive blow to terrorism at the heart of its power, and a victory for the security of America and the civilized world"
Americans are not cutting heads off people and praying to a God either!
If I have left anything out let me know.....

You mean Afghanistan - right ?
Sadly, I know it wasn't a typo and I read the link. This idea that Iraq was an 'imminent threat' to the US is still pretty bizzare and perpetuated in that link.
But if that was the plan (to show US military might so that all the fanatics back down and go home (???)) it doesn't appear to be going so well on that front either.

I don't think this particular action can be pinned down to a single reason. There was no single act that could be focused on as before, with the invasion of Kuwait. That was definitely more of a "smoking gun".
Whatever the reasons for this occupation - now that it exists, the coalition forces cannot simply back out of Iraq immediately at this point. The region is simply too unstable. An orderly transfer of power is going to take time.
Note that I said coalition forces - it seems pretty easy to forget that there are UK, Australian and Polish troops in occupation of Iraq in addition to US troops. The number of troops may be heavily weighted toward US troops, but I do not think that changes a country's stance on this action - you are either in that country with military force or you are not.

Then the United Nations and other relief organizations need to get in their because we are fueling hatred against the west throughout the middle east, and terrorism, by brutally occupying Iraq . Al Qaeda now has a foot hold there where before they did not.

Yes forgive me for I was not clear you are right it should be Afghanistan.
Now I almost wished I had not of got into this....
I was only really wanting to make the statement that its not all about oil!
Even so if oil is not really the case for reason of war, because I am sure that I cannot keep up with all the facts there is simply too many.
Shouldnt we be worried about what else is going on now and that what is in the past is the past, oil is oil, war is war, ect......
And no matter where you are in this world the media will candy coat things differently and portray different views to all, it wont always be straight facts and truth.
