You calculate it by hand (or spreadsheet) based on the new scores and the number of votes and compare it to the old score and the number of votes.

come on you can do it...just do about 20% each evening...or even 15% if you want to push it to the end of the challenge...that's what I do....divide it by %'s

Ok so I was not happy but "comfortable" with my score, but apparently you are all doing so great that I might be in the lowest 10 with a 4.65!

It's too early to start comparing scores -- you only have 4 challenges under your belt. For the first 20 or so challenges, I was just trying to beat my own average. It's actually more fun that way. Now I've gotten too competitive (hey spiff! am I trouncing you yet!) Give yourself more time to get used to the voting and challenges before worrying about your place in the world! :D

With that said my submission is doing better right now than my previous attempts, but honestly not as good as I thought it would do out of the gate. You just never know. LOL

Well, first off Judi...I didn't say I wasn't happy with it did I? I said it's not as good as I thought it would be at this point. That doesn't mean I'm not happy at all.

Second, my voting average dropped over the last three challenges down from the mid 6's to where it stands now due to tweaking my voting criteria to be on par with what I can plainly see is the norm around here now that I recently started entering challenges after being a registered user for three years and observing. It wasn't until I started entering challenges that I realized I was being MUCH more generous to some photos than others would be. You've cast over 40,000 votes since 2004 and I've cast only 1400 and most of them being before I ever entered a challenge. With such a small voting history here on this site naturally that average with rise and fall as I adjust and learn my own voting criteria. Don't worry, if a picture is worth a high vote such as a 8, 9 or 10 I give it that. If I feel it's worth a 5 or a 3 I give it that as well. Photos that aren't up to par and fail to meet the challenge on top of that will get a vote that reflects that as well. I don't base my voting against any other pictures in a challenge, I don't base my votes against my own photo either. I base my votes on what I am learning as I go here at DPC. I make no apologizes for that either. That's why we are all here in the first place. For all you know when I reach 40000 plus votes cast as you have now my average vote cast might be 7.5 or whatever. The numbers play out over time.

I'm well aware of your accomplishments here at DPC. Very impressive indeed, and in fact I've give the majority of YOUR photos high marks in the challenges I've voted in. You have a great eye, great composition skills, and God knows you have the equipment to work with compared to someone like myself. However, I'm also aware that you have the reputation of speaking your mind and not holding back in the forums. I've read many of your comments myself, and I've read many comments by others who joke about your bluntness etc. To each their own, but your comment to me was unwarranted and snarky. I'm here to relax and have fun so leave me out of the drama.

Perhaps you should be a bit more grateful and humble about your accomplishments here at DPC, and the next time someone new to the challenges comes your way instead of a backhanded comment you could simply say "Welcome to DPC", and be a bit more helpful with constructive advice.

I think people are confused "Absract Macro" with "puzzle macro". I consider abstract as a image showing patterns,shapes,colors,textures of a subject. You identify the subject or not that doesn't matter.
