I've been using it in basic. By the new rules, it is ok as long as you don't take the appearance over the top and make a treatment out of it.

I used Topaz Adjust on this basic editing entry:

And the beta test of Topaz Detail on this one:

Why not get a trial key until they send you your purchased one?

Well got Detail and then experimented. Immediately found that my Adjust default thumbnails are not visible even though if you click in the blank spot the adjustment takes place. Less default presets but I like the overall manipulation better with Detail.

I used the trial tonight and it's wonderful. It takes a while to process a large raw file, but the results are very nice. This is just a quick edit. It will be fun playing with this plug-in! :)

I downloaded the trial today, and played with a few images from my road trip last week. One thing I really like about Detail is the color tone tab, which makes it really easy to make dramatic black and whites. At the same time I had lots of control of the "detail" even with busy images like this one with oodles of trees.

Before CS3 and Noise Ninja.
With the same as above and Topaz Detail.

For $20 not a bad deal..

Interesting. I just noticed that every single mention of Topaz in this thread is now highlighted in red. No idea how that was done and by who.

Added: Now there is no highlighting. I know what did it now. The link in the other thread was one that was copied from a search for the word Topaz, and was showing the searched for term. Duh.

I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread. I've been using the trial of Detail for a few days now and I was planning on buying it when the trial ran out. I went ahead and got it today for the 20 bucks thanks to the code from Yo_Spiff.
