you have to beg and plead for people to vote for you. That just seems to be the way these days. You have to have a friend vote to get anywhere.
If you don't, you can have the most stunning photos coming in last and pure crap at the top.
It seems no one in half of these contests get voted cos they are amazing, stunning. it is all about friend voting.
It is such a shame that it now boils down to this.
It is the people that run these contests, they can NOT spend the time to look over the photos, so just take what ever.
I am not in any of these types of contests, so I am bitchin cos I CAN!!!!!!!!!
~~~ edited too add, I am going to bitch about my electric bill. $489.91 for the month of JULY, that is one whole frigging month, just to stay cool in 115 heat wave. Tucson Electric, You suck too!

another edit to add: Walmart Rocks, I had two flat tires, it cost a whole 9 bloody dollars to fix the flats, [b]how amazing is that!!!!!!!!!!!![/b]

I agree totally on the contest thing. I don't enter that kind. Jones Soda does have people vote, but they still pick what shots they wanna use, regardless of votes. I think it's just to get folks to their site. (I know because they've used two of mine that didn't have a lot of votes.)

We're on our 30-something-eth 100+ degree day today in Phoenix. Just got the last power bill for $490-something myself. Next bill might be worse. I work from home during the day and keep it at freaking 81 degrees, too. @#%@%!

Ohhhhh, Verizon is near the top my My List right now. I had to move to Verizon from Alltel because of the merger. They gave me the ole "we may need to do a credit check to verify your account blah blah".
"Okay, you are authorized to do only a soft pull. You shouldn't need to do a hard pull, right?"
[ blank stare ]
"You know what I mean when I say 'soft pull' and 'hard pull,' right?"
[ blank stare, stammering ]
"Okay, check with a supervisor or someone who works with your credit department and make sure they understand I am only authorizing you to do a soft pull."
[ confused look... walks off... ]
[ Another person comes back. ]
"Yes, we'll only do a soft pull."
Next day? I get paged by my credit monitoring service. Verizon did a hard pull of my credit. @#%!%@%!
Thus began the letter-writing.

| Verizon makes resellerratings.com's list of 100 worst, with a lifetime rating of 2.28 out of 10. I bet you're not surprised. |

I too don't enter voting contests, well except for here, and over the last year rarely. Yes we in the hot climates do pay more in the summer âbutâ fall winter and spring is comingâ¦.:)
We have Verison with 4 lines, only one left with a month left on contract, (we buy any needed replacement phones with amazon or eBay) I get a lot more yes sirâs out of them lately.
I only have one bitch, kids that think their music is appreciated in my house at 10:00PM, and after coming out of their car with 12â speakers it even sounds remotely acceptable as music.. |

Gonna one-up you here...
Want to feel better about the electric bill? Try $930 a month! I had a timing relay go out in my A/C unit that was keeping a heater element running 24/7 for about 8 months and I didn't know it. I was on a "balanced billing plan" which is supposed to keep your bills even throughout the year, but the amount you pay only gets re-evaluated every 6 months. I got lazy and paid my bill without looking at my usage. I only realized there was a problem when my bill shot through the ceiling a few months later. No choice but to pay it. This month it finally got reevaluated, and is going down to a paltry $602 a month. Whoo-hoo! I'm also switching to the averaging plan, which works differently, but they did not have it when I first signed up. Once that period of excessive usage falls out of recent history, I should have a nice low electric bill like you do. |

| I don't have anything to do with those 'contests' either. You're sure right, they have absolutely nothing to do with quality or anything else. Just a marketing tool to drive people to their advertising so they can brain wash their brand into everyone's tiny, soft, squishy little minds. |

I refuse to vote on popular vote contests whatsoever, so I'm with you. I'm just not generally public about it. lol
I am now though. I despise, and I'll repeat this, DESPISE, threads on here asking people to go vote for things. Luckily, I also know where the 'ignore' thing is :D
Still, I just find it rather sad, unfortunate, and not just a little bit worthless to 'win' something simply because you know more people than someone else. |

Verizon has treated us wonderfully for the last five years. They're the only ones who have coverage worth a sh*t in this rural, hilly country where everyone wants reception, but nobody wants to look at towers, and I haven't paid but for one phone in that five years, getting a new one every two for all three of us.......and that phone was a Blackberry Storm so my kid would be cooler than all her friends.

You can only call me if you are a Verizon Member, or I still get charged up the arse for it!! That is why I have a Comcast line too as I can call anywhere and they can call me anywhere for free.
