Okay I posted on here awhile back about how cool I thought Ubuntu was. I thought it was so cool, that I went on a kill crazy rampage, and downloaded Fedora, Mandriva, and Linux Mint just to see which O.S. I liked best. Fedora is pretty much like Ubuntu, nearly identical. Linux Mint is like a polished Ubuntu. Mandriva, whoaaaa, Mandriva is just sexy. It is a really clean looking O.S. My only complaint is that it is alittle more hardware intensive and therefore is not quite as smooth as Ubuntu on my old laptop, but it still runs well and man is it pretty :)

Not to my knowledge, there maybe a couple of linux nerds running around here that may know of a way around it, but as far as I know, Wine is the only free way. I think there is a company called codemasters who makes a program that is like 70$ that will run most of that stuff flawlessly and with full tech support... I just keep using GIMP, its a good freebie for me... :) |
