This link only gives us the answers.
What was the link where we would get to answer the questions?
05/18/2004 11:14:03 AM · #3
I went to take the test, but got the scoring of your test with the answers. I was unable to find the test page itself. Could you post that please?

Thanks for the link! Between me and a couple guys in my office (all who grew up in the 80's) we scored an 81. There were a bunch I was close on but had one small thing wrong...

You grew up to this. No Bonus. No penalty.
5 point bonus for telling me where you saw this. Thanks!

Final Score: 100

(tried to put in the little leg warmer picture but it didn't work)

158, and brought back a lot of bad lyrics and best forgotten thoughts and places.

Scored an 85.5.

I made a quiz similar to this for 60's lyrics at:

Wow, I did really bad! - 36.3 (that's with - You're a little young to remember all this. 10% bonus.)

My housemates and I have played a lot of Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City. That's where I hear 80s music at!

I scored a 73 on the 60's one. I'm pretty happy with that score considering I wasn't born yet. I think I should have had a 75- how can you LOSE points on a BONUS?!

Anybody have one for the 70's? (boring day at work...)

"Your generation stuck mine with a motherload of cultural horrors (bradys! disco! plaid! roller skating!). -30% for being a yuppie.
5 point bonus for telling me where you saw this. Thanks! "

Wha...? I was, like five when the Brady Bunch was on Prime Time. I was 10 when disco and roller skating were huge. How is this my fault? :D

I scored 42.1. Some corrections for whoever made the test, California Girls isn't remotely an 80's song. HUH? Although, I got that lyric completely wrong somehow. I guess 'cuz I'm an East Coast girl.
I'm bugged because I got 30% knocked off my score for being a yuppie. :P I was born in 1967 my late teens and 20's were spent in the 80's/90's. I'm too young to be a yuppie despite having been born 2 years before Woodstock. JEESH! Put it this way, if I'm a yuppie because of my age then Kurt Cobain was a yuppie 'cuz he'd be my age today. If I have to be pegged with a generational label, Slacker or (unfortunately) Gen X is more appropriate. I'm guessing the person who made this test isn't out of his teens yet.

BTW, if I could I'd like to ask the quiz master, "Why weren't XTC or The Smiths in your quiz Mr. Smartie Pants? Just to mention a few of the better bands of the decade. " :D

Correction: I was TWO when the Brady Bunch first aired in 1969.

OK. I only took a few minutes and I left a ton of them blank but I got a 73.

77 here. Would have been much better if I knew how to spell. Scarry how some of those lyrics jump right back into your head

Thanks for the picture, EL-ROI!

Y'know what is even scarier??? Those lavender Nikes with the white swoosh...I made my mom spend two full days traveling from mall to mall to find those for me in 1983 when they came out...how sad!!!! And I had to have the matching Jordache jeans with the purple stitching, and the purple and green striped Izod shirt...I was sick in the head, I tell you, SICK!!!!! :o)

I got the -30% yuppie penalty too! Very unfair; I am too poor to ever have been a yuppie. :)

That song was remade by David Lee Roth in 1985, so it is an 80's song.

Maybe I will sit down with my "Have A Nice Day" CD series (26 CD's of 70's music with lots of lesser anthologized songs) and work on one for the 70's.

In 8th grade I got navy blue Nikes with a powder blue swoosh. Loved 'em. I wish I had them now. I didn't have much else that was in fashion. In my school, preppie was very in. Jordache would have been considered 'guido'. Everyone wore Calvin Kleins (not me) or Levi's cords. I was so glad to get out of that neighborhood into a more diverse neighborhood. I was an art chick in school and dressed pretty much how I wanted once I got out of junior high. Favorite jacket in high school was the one in this photo. It was a shriner's jacket (I think) embroidered on the back, Tripoli Clowns Milwaulki. My mom found it in the lost in found at Brown when she worked in the registrar's office. I think I got ink all over it. :-( Note the prerequisite hipster Chucks (pink) I'm wearing. Very uncool in my high school. I got ragged on for wearing them mostly, except for two gay boys who took summer school Geometry with me. :-)

Edited: Now that I look at it, that photo is post-graduation. I graduated in '85 so this is from '86. I wore those stupid Chucks for years.
