Sunday's Schenectady Gazette carried a very nice story about my son who plays "Ryan" in the production of "High School Musical" (HSM) at Albany's Park Playhouse in Washington Park. And my picture to go with it.

It's a set of firsts. This is his first paid professional role, and it's the first picture I've taken specifically for a paper and then had published (they contacted me to use one of my pictures of him they saw on my website from a recent production of You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, but I volunteered to go shoot some of the HSM for them).

You can see it online here //www.dailygazette.com/news/2009/jul/19/0719_qna

You don't see a photo credit online unless you click on the photo, but there's one in its normal position in the real Sunday paper.

Here's the photo for those who don't want to follow the link (but they cropped it in the paper):

And if you want to see the rest of the cast that I shot during the dress rehearsal, you can see them on my website here (and this should link directly to one of my favorites...no wonder Joel loves theatre!

The guy on the lower right needs to up his medication. :)

Way to go Neil! Always feels good to see your work in the public's eye. I miss Washington Park. I think I caught Guys and Dolls there along with My Fair Lady(?).

Thanks. We were at My Fair Lady, and maybe Guys and Dolls. It's funny how we were both at the same place, and could have been sitting next to each other without knowing it. And now you're on the other side of the country, and we have "met" (well, at least, virtually!)

well done to father and son.
You've got a very cool website as well - one of the smoothest I've seen. (I was looking at Yanko's recently - also very cool.)

Congrats to both of you.

Off topic did they at least offer to pay you for the photo usage?

No, and I didn't require it. I would normally have asked to be paid to go shoot the show, but I wanted to shoot it anyway, since my son was in it. And it gave me a good excuse and the authority to be there during the dress rehearsal taking pictures.

Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes!
