A few recent shots from some home-studio sessions:

C&C welcome. What do you like? What don't you like? (I've got tough skin)

TIA, :O)

Overall excellent shooting, Rob. These are my faves:

I always find it hard to critique these shots absent any commercial context - in other words, what are they for? That makes a huge difference in how I view them.

They were for you, buddy. Happy belated. ;OP

ETA: okay, seriously, the 3 of Vanessa were for her modeling portfolio. The one of Jade was me testing new lighting.

:)

Ok, all the ones of Vanessa will be great for her portfolio, IMO. They're all headshots though - do you have any full body shots of her?
...listen to me - like I have any clue what I am talking about here. LOL

LOL, as it turns out... you DO have a clue.
That's what she was looking for (headshots) :O)

Well, in that case, bravo! ;-)
I will add that I don't like the shallow DoF in this one:

might be ok if it was all in focus. Take my advice - now that I'm an expert & all.

I would give a hand for the last photo. Amazing shot! Great lighting and colors! The rest are just ordinary model shots that do not stand out. I think you could have been more creative on them.

Robert

Let me start by saying that I am no expert and I am just thinking out loud..

The last shot has good lighting and great colour. Did you try putting another light below her- waist level - and point it up to fill in the shadows under her scarf and the tops of her eyes? She has nice eyes and they should be showcased in this instance.

Do you have other shots with different expressions or angles?

I like the logo on the right. Clean and non invasive.

I am also trying to do more work with models and it is difficult trying to get it all perfect.

keep it up and share more.

Thanks for the comments & critique everyone. Once I start processing an image, I tend to lose sight of some of the basics, so it's always nice to throw things out to the crowd (to point out things that I miss) :O)

All very helpful, much appreciated.
