From a `tester`.. allegedly.
1.3 crop
Images ~16MP
ISO 50-25600
8MP sRAW1 format providing images that seem to best 1D3 files in detail
Very clean images at ISO 3200. 6400/12800 take further processing very well
Slightly faster FPS than 1D3 in real life shooting
AF greatly improved and very good in low light (actual comment was 'Nikon fast' ;-)
Liveview AF - not up to fast sports use, but very usable otherwise
Video as with 5D2
Screen as per 5D2
Ergonomic improvements with grips - some buttons moved
Feels faster and more responsive in nearly all aspects of real use.
Might not bother with this one - should have enough for the 1Ds mk4 though if/when announced. Although would welcome even faster focusing and 16mp. Video? nice to play with but does anyone actually use their HD video mode on their 5Dmk2? I mean, regularly use it?
Low light use - never really had a problem with that, even in darkened churches as long as one has a decent 2.8 (or faster) lens strapped on. |

Hey Mark,
Yup - all of the time now. Especially since the last firmware update. It is now very controllable/usable with stellar results. Just don't ask about editing the darned files... that's a completely different story ;O)

Faster? Wow. I just borrowed a friend's mkIII for a day, and that thing was like shooting with an Uzi.
Hard to imagine anything faster than 10fps. |

You're expecting too much of Canon. If you want good autofocus, you gotta come to Nikon :P |

Cool, from someone who has probably never even used a 1d mk3 for any length of time. |

You have to learn to ignore certain people. Others just like to play internet hysteria. |

lol @ 'Nikon fast' :)
I saw a 'road map' of Nikon's new stuff and their D4 is supposed to be 16mp, or 11mp in crop mode.
FPS= 11 at full res, 16 fps at smaller resolutions/jpeg or something similar.
Sorry to be hijacking this thread but the frame rates are becoming ridiculous. |

Bah, for most of us, it really doesn't matter. Especially rumors.
casio has a camera that shoots 60fps, so it's been way out of hand for a while. |

Bah...that's because you are so fast/good with manual focus Matt and not because of any technology in the camera. :)
