Does anyone here have this backpack?
LowePro Photo Trekker AW II
If so, what are your thoughts on it? Does it have any shortcomings? Are you happy with it?

I have the Lowepro Computrekker //www.lowepro.com/pages/series/trekking/computrekkeraw.htm
which is very similar except that it has a partition for a laptop. Excellent back pack, small enough to bring in a plane as carry on. Love it.

I ended up with this one:
Tamrac Expedition 7
One of my friends has this one and it looks pretty good...

I don't have this but I've seen it in the store before. It's a bigger version of my MiniTrekker AW, holds more stuff, has a side handle (sometimes I wish my MiniTrekker had one), and I prefer the way the PhotoTrekker holds the tripod (by the side, rather than at the front on my MiniTrekker).
It's a great bag, wish I had gotten it (or a Nature Trekker) instead of my current one.

I bought one of those last week and justgot it last fiday so I haven't used it but my first impresion was how big it was.
If you are looking for a backpack to use for a day trip then this one is the right. It has lot of storage space, extra bag that you can take of, that bag is great for example you drinks and maybe something to eat :) atleast that was the first thing I thougt of.
I'm realy glad I bought mine because I know I will have to use it alot when I will go hiking and will need alot of equipment with me.
I gona by me a mini trekker to use just for dayli usage when I just need one or two lenses.
Bes thing for you is to go to the camera shop and look at this backpack and try it on. You will love it. It is very nice (bad ad english trying to say comfortiable or somthing like that.) to have on your back.
In this bag, Lowepro thougth of everything. |

I have a friend who purchased one of those to use with his Canon GL-2 digital video camera. He took it on the flight up to Redmond, WA and shot all week at Microsoft (he's putting together a DVD for one of their offshoot agencies, INETA). I've carried his equipment in it before and it is much easier on the back than my shoulder bag. I'm planning on buying one of these after seeing his but I can't speak to the day-in/day-out usage issues. It apparently can be used as carry-on luggage on some domestic flights, too.
