Slap on the wrist. They'll be right back at it

7 companies using every despicable scam they can, to rip off customers, gets fined $765,000. A single mother downloads 5 songs off the internet, and gets fined twice that. Oh-yea that̢۪s justice.. |

They're both against the law, are they not?
If I break the law, to any degree, I take my chances on the outcome, right?

There have been several stories of RIAA guarddogs attacking grandmothers for songs they didn't even download.

While the fine was crazy, I'm guessing that much of it was due to the fact that she was sharing the songs with others. It would be interesting to see how it breaks down if you factor in how many people downloaded it from her.

So are Jay-walking and child abuse.... yet I'd hardly see them lead to similar outcomes |

Companies like that should just be forced to close up and the operators should not be allowed to run a business again. That would create a desire to follow the law for future business men. |
