Just ran across this.
Birds of a feather...

Dude, just be happy about it. They credited you. Nobody is saying it's theirs. Nobody is making money. It's flattery.

Whenever I see my photos used on other sites with my name written under it, I see it as a compliment.

Ok. I'll be happy then. :-)

I saw the "Shop" link and wasn't sure.

Thanks guys!

I believe Polyvore is a site that allows users to create T shirts and other things using the images that have been posted. I saw something on another site relating to this. The owner of the other site contacted Polyvore and they removed those other images.

I would perhaps look a bit deeper into what they do with the images before deciding if you are happy or not.

ETA. If you look at the items below your image you can see all the things it has already been used on.

uh, langdon de-registered our stuff from Polyvore about a month ago, as we were going to lose members over it. i will point this out to him again. they should not be lifting content from DPC.

Interesting site! It seems to me like the point is to browse the web for images and then use their funky software to make a "set" out of them. That set is that user's idea of stuff that goes well together. It seems like the idea behind it is primarily for fashion (like find pics of a dress/purse/earrings that go together). All images should be credited and link back to their original location (so you can go buy that dress, purse, and earrings if you like the look of the set).

If I interpreted everything correctly, I'd be happy if it was my image and I'd make sure there was a print available for sale!

After seeing mucky's response, I should probably append that I think it is copyright violation for them to lift the images, but I personally wouldn't care if they lifted mine.

They have 11 pages of DPC photos.

Well, there are like 475 dpc images on the pages.

Yeah, my daughter posed for me in this one...

And a couple weeks later her sister was on MySpace and found it modified to a FAIL picture. Now its on 49 sites around the world according to Tineye. She thinks its pretty funny, sort of her own piece of fame. :)

Whoops! Looks like I accidentally opened a can of worms. Maybe not such a bad thing to do in this case it seems like after all. Hmmm.

I ran across this after "Googling" my DPC username. Hadn't done that in a long time. I also found something else rather disturbing; there's another guy out there using the same username and from the links it looks like he's been in a bit of hot water. Sigh...

Also found a Croatian blog with a bunch of DPC photos displayed with poems written, etc... Photo's were credited to the original photographer. No $$$ going on - seemed like general enjoyment of the photo's overall.

I hadn't googled my username in a long time either, so I just did too. Guess what? I found one of my images used in a polyvore collage after all! Cool! Too bad whatever bits of my image she used aren't readily visible in the end result. I better get a print available for that one right quick!
