Why would someone expend time and energy to write "No Comment" as a comment on a photo? Just curious...

It's usually an insult.

I would take it to indicate that they found something both disturbing and obvious, and maybe even obviously disturbing, such that they wanted the photographer to be aware that it had had an impact, but not wanting to elaborate or provide specifics.

In the context of certain photos, such as a "visual pun," it might be considered the equivalent of groaning and rolling one's eyes.

Or maybe it's not even as in depth as all that. Maybe the person just wants to up their number of comments given so they look good?

In the same way I've been padding my "forum posts" stats?

All I have to say about that is... Wellll...

:)

It could also mean that your picture was so awesome that the shot spoke for itself , but the only way to acknowledge that they saw the picture was to put "No Comment".

if it's meant as an insult, i think that's pretty rude. some people are kind of lame. otherwise, it could have been meant as a compliment if they were just completely amazed. i don't think i really know what i'm talking about :)

LOL

I once got a comment that said "I usually don't waste time on photos that need extra information in brackets, so I won't"

Sounds like a famous Homer Simpson quote.." I never apologise...I`m sorry but that`s just the way it is ".

I will not dignify that with a response.

No one can accuse Laurie of leaving ambiguous comments! When she comments there is no doubt about her opinions and she is usually right!

Nope. It is your style that leaves nothing to chance. A score in each of several aspects and an average at the bottom.
Can't argue with that approach!
