I captured these two shots yesterday, i must admit i feel lucky to have got these. I decided to use sports mode and try it out as i felt i was to slow to track a bee and focus lol. I used a 1.4X extender and a 70-200mm f/4L lens to capture the shots. This is the first time i had atempted to capture bees in flight and out of about 30 shots only a dozen came out any good and these are my fav two captures, and thouights or comments are welcome.

fantastic! I love the view point of the second one. makes me feel a part of the scene rather than just being an on-looker.

congrats!

Excellent macro/action shots. Good DOF and Colors. I have that lens too, and I just love it, the clarity of images from that lens just blows me away. YOU? Great job. Cheers....Martin

Those are amazing!!!! I have a canon 70 - 300mm lens. It's good, cheap! I needed to save money. But damn, your bee shots blow me away! I see bees every day, and I wish I could capture that. I have a 10D and should be able to! Tell me, what are the differences between my lens and yours, if you know? Also, what is a 1.4x extender (what does it do, how does it work, what does it cost)?

I am impressed!!!

The 70-200mm f/4L lens i used is L Glass which produces far better picture quality, its the baby sister of the 2.8 lens. The 1.4X Extender is the L glass teleconvertor for the lenses, whichthen turns the 70-200mm lens to 98-280mm lens and with the 10D and 300d Crop factor it turns the lens to 137-448mm lens. I dont know how much the lens and extender cost in US$$ but in NZ they are kinda expensive lol. I hope this helps, and i hope i explained things right. I'm sure someone will correct me if i got anything wrong :)
