I can now project my final score for Opposites. After 8 votes, I had achieved a 6.8750, but after 82 votes, the score was 5.5122. This means it drops 1.3628 every 74 votes.

At this rate, I'll have achieved a 4.1494 after 156 votes, a 2.7866 after 230 votes, and if I end up with 304 votes, my final score will be 1.4238 -- just the OPPOSITE of what I wanted!

Indeed. According to my calculations, the toughest scorers for my image voted between 3 and 8 a.m. Pacific Daylight Savings Time. Those four voters gave me a 4.2016, whereas the eight voters in the first hour of the challenge gave me a 6.875. I can only get scores every hour, but I have that charted on Excel and can watch the trends. It's completely a waste of time and quite entertaining!

Did ya use a slide rule to come up with those figures???

Just joshin' with you...it doesn't take a calculator or abacus to let me know when my photos suck!! :o)

Laurie, you just left a very nice comment on my photo. Thanks!

I've had nine comments, and all very positive. It's putting a spring in my step this beautiful sunny day!

I had almost thought I was imagining it, but if you are seeing the same thing... I have noticed that my score tends to drop overnight (Central time zone) and rise through the day. Sometimes they balance, somethings they don't, but the trend does seem to be consistent.

I just have not decided if the American nightowls don't agree with me, or if there is some cultural difference causing the effect with the overseas voters.

Of course it could just be the irregularity of my checking the scores too.

I'll bet you finish with a 5.99 or in the top 25, I feel scores will have a low curve for this challenge.

I don't know if you should project your results in such a way.

Initially at 41 votes my image was sitting at 4.61xx

Nearing 80 votes it was down to 4.1xxx

Now at 139 votes I am back up to 4.5971

I am not expecting to win any ribbons here, as my subject matter is slightly dry. However, I don't think I am doing to bad for a first challenge entry.

At this point I think I'll predict a solid 6, for my two entries combined ...
