My yoga teacher has asked me to shoot some shots of her and her yoga studio for promotional use. Has anyone ever done anything like this or have any ideas?

I took these shots a couple of weeks ago. I expect them to be bought and published in a Standup Paddleboard magazine that I am starting to shoot for.

These are shots of a friend of mine who is the distributor for these paddleboards and his yoga instructor. This was her first time on a paddleboard. Not bad for a beginner.

These probably aren't what you had in mind but I had to show these off since this thread came up and I just finished processing these.

I think yoga shots look really good on just seemless black, because then there is no distraction from from the pose and the body.

Currently working with a Pilates instructor for some promotional images for her new studio. Can't show any of the images yet, but can give you some pointers. Yoga (and pilates) are all about the poses. True, there's meditation, tranquility, and the like, but photographically it's about the pose. Really draw attention to the pose. Use light in a way that really brings out the muscles and form. Really good example of this style is theToe Sox ads. (WARNING: they are nudes, but you really can't see anything)
But also get out in nature. Find some beautiful outdoor locations, shoot there. Or go urban, do something different like Martin Prihoda. Really talk with her about what kind of style she likes, ask for examples, magazines, websites that have images she likes, and then get creative. Bounce ideas around, pitch different concepts and see what happens.

Godspeed,
