Been rather busy so far this month, so not had much of a chance to play. I took this photo at a family party last weekend, and played around with it in Topaz - can't rememebr quite what I did though!

I am beginning to seriously like this program.

My town:

Just heard from the people at Topaz regarding my problem with Spicify shutting down on me, reported earlier.
They suggested reinstalling the program or increasing my Photoshop memory settings. So, it looks as if it was an Out-Of-Memory problem on my part. Thanks fldave for the headsup.

This is the same image as my Free Study for April, but with some color adjustment as suggested by Blue Moon. I used Topaz Adjust (custom settings) for the first layer and then TA noise reduction toward the end of the processing. Sorry I didn't save the custom setting.

Really brought this one out! Did you try anything with the sky before running Topaz? I am finding I get smoother looking results if I run an NR pass on the sky before throwing topaz at it.

Thanks to everyone who has commented on this image. It still amazes me how much detail there actually is in these images of ours. Just waiting to get out. And a positive response like this tells me others feel the same way!

This was an especially helpful suggestion. By applying a modest dose of Noise Ninja before other processing in the sky, the rainbow popped just a tad more and also kept a slightly bluer tone. It's subtle, and not really apparent on the screen (so I won't bother to post it), but in print on good paper, yeah, there it was.

Revisited a few old images from 2004-5. This was from a set of photos I took at Yosemite. The light was harsh (mid day sun) and I have never been entirely happy with any of the shots (all taken as JPEGS). Topaz Adjust did a nice job of handling these - and this was just a quick edit.

I like how the reflections are brought out. Another story there.
