We're having so much fun with Topaz filters now (but I think I went off the deep end)

RGB and Y

I kind of wanted an Andy Warhol but not.

Cartooned in Topaz Clean, Detailed with Topaz Adjust and "Color Stylized" with Nik CEP3

If you've seen Calumet Photo's Timelines Self Port (#3) video, you've seen the original.

Didjitellus

This is from the Spring Buskers festival at Seaport Village. The funny thing about this perspective is: there are about 30 people standing around taking snaps of the gentleman. I walk up and throw a buck or two in his hat, then lay flat on the ground in front of him and start shooting away. Next thing I know there is a line of people behind me waiting to get the same angle. Didjitellus is a great shoot, really hams it up for ya.

Moral of the Story is, people really do want to get the big angle shots but it seems they are afraid that they might look silly in doing so. Once someone jumps in and does it, it becomes ok. Try it sometime in a group of tourists...it will make you chuckle when you step back and watch them...

I felt the haloing in the sky/figure interface was a bit much, so I toned it down by overlaying the original and the edited, then extracting the sky from the edited version, pasting it back as a new layer, and fading it into the original. For what that's worth. Killer nice shot.

Looks good R. and I agree. The original sky was kinda bland, as I applied more TA effects the sky started looking like cottage cheese. I ended up putting a Nik CEP3 Gradient Sky in there. I think the haloing came about with the final step which was a NIK CEP3 darken/lighten center; as I darkened the border and tried to keep the gentleman's face lit the halo occured.

Your take calms it down quite a bit...thanks

With some sadness that I'm not brave enough to submit either of these for the Free Study, I give you a couple of signature Melethia shots. Topaz'd, but not as much as you'd think - light was excellent, color was pretty much as you see it.

Here's something to try then: before using NIK CEP3, clone off the topaz layer. Make the sky selection and save it. Now on the top layer, apply the CEP3, then duplicate THAT layer. Now load the sky selection on the top layer, invert it, and delete everything but the sky from that layer. No changes will be apparent at this time. But you will find that you can now adjust opacity on both the top two layers and control the CEP3 relationship between sky and everything-but-sky, allowing exactly as much of the original topaz layer as you want to bleed through both adjusted overlayers.

Sounds more complicated than it actually is.

Thanks. You've already got my $$ for the full purchase. I'm sure someone else will appreciate the gesture however.

Obsession (or Dawgs love trucks (old nissan commercial))

Way back when I had no Idea 'bout exposure I got shot this several years later with help from TA and Nik CEP3 the shot looks like

Topaz Clarity for detail, Topaz Vibrancy for color and punch.
