| With the new Swine Flu worries, I've been thinking about other things I have survived in the past. So far, I've come up with the SARS epidemic, the Bird Flu, and Celine Dion. Others? |

Sitting in the front seat as a kid, toys with lead paint, a Ford Pinto, fast food, no bicycle helmet, raw cookie dough, and left-handedness. Oh, and we just missed the last major asteroid impact by 65 million years (a mere 1.5% of earth's age). Whew!

middle child syndrome (4th of 7), deslexia, teen acne (others, not mine), the Bush adminsitration, the Bush administration, near constant DPC rejection, simultaneous membership in both "Baby Boomers" and Generation X, my mother in law on a family trip to France, my mother in law on a family trip to China (will I ever learn) . . .
I turn 50 next month, we'll see if I survive that! ;-) |

I thought so :-) OK, let's see if I have a more threatening situation...OK, incompetent surgeons, massive bleeding, and the great surgeon who finally fixed me all up.

My first three months working in a public school.
The "Electric Outlet" incident when I was 7.
Numerous risky hiking/cliff scaling expeditions.

I, too, survived the 70's, 3 of them stoned, 3 years of it in the Navy (NOT the same 3 years!). I survived a fall off the mountainside at Taormina, Sicily. I survived a stint as a fundamentalist Baptist. I survived cancer, 9 years so far!
