Ok.. trying to polish up my website and have it look as good as possible.
So - could you please go check it out? If anything stands out as not looking right or any grammatical/spelling errors then please message me and let me know.
I truly appreciate the help!!!

Looks very good to me. The only thing I really noticed was the photos take a second to load, so for slower speed connections that could be a problem.
Link for the lazy like myself...

The website is very nice, clean and easy to navigate (with some exceptions which I've mentioned below), so the following complaints are only because I was looking for things to complain about :)
When I was at your front page I expected every link to link me to somewhere in your site. One of the links took me to your MySpace page, though I hadn't looked at the address bar so didn't know I had been taken away from the site. My initial reaction to this was that your site didn't look very uniform (because I hadn't realised I had left your site at all) and then when I clicked the home button (on the MySpace page) I was surprised to find I was at the MySpace homepage. You could somehow (don't know how) make it more obvious that when you click on that link you are being taken to a MySpace page rather than somewhere on your site.
You seem to have a bit of a weird navigation thing going on with the front page. From there I found I can like to your blog, your myspace page and your gallery. From the gallery I can link only directly to the blog but not back to the front page (at least not that I found). From the blog I found I can like back to the front page, your Facebook page (which i didn't see mentioned anywhere else) and your myspace page, but not directly back to your photo gallery (though I thought that was where the "CT Photography" like was going to take me). To get back to your photo gallery I had to go via the front page, which sorta feels like going in a circle.
I understand they are independent sites, but you are presenting them together from the front page (with the exception of the facebook one). If you choose to present them together you have to keep that uniform and make a way of going back and forward between them without going round in circles.
The blog section from what I can tell isn't a blog at all, it's a price list. The photo on the top takes up too much space, I have my browser almost maximised and when I selected different options in the drop down "Investment" menu, it wasn't obvious that anything had changed at all because it only changed at the bottom of the screen, made me think the link wasn't working until I tried again and watched more closely. If someone had their browser at a smaller size than me, or on a lower res laptop screen than me they probably wouldn't see that at all.
The music is annoying after a while, especially if you don't happen to like the song. I found it easy enough to stop it, but when I came back to the site it started again. If you are going to play it by default, if someone stops it then it should remember that preference for that user (via a cookie) and be stopped by default next time they visit. If they really want to hear it they can turn it back on again.
Like I say though, I was there looking for things to comment on, so hope you find that useful!
Oh yea, and loading times were pretty quick for me, no slower than other flash based sites with photos, so nothing that I would complain about, though I have a fast connection so I don't know what it would look like on a slower one.
ETA:
Just went back and realised the blog is there, but only under the Category menu if I selected the Uncategorised option. I'm guessing that'll change over time as you add stuff so no biggey.

All of them in the gallery section. For me it was a non issue, but you may want to get some feedback from folks with slower connections if you think some of your clientele may have slower connections. |

Unfortunately this is a bludomain template and I dont have too much control lol. I put text under each picture to try to say where it was going - I'll see if I can make it bigger?

I'll see if I can get that to change to the gallery. I thought the blog was supposed to open in an independant window so that the front page stayed open... I'll check.

Hm - this is a wordpress template. I'll see about resizing the image. Not sure if its possible?? My monitor rez is pretty high - never thought about that.

Again - blu template... I'll see what I can do. Anyone else with a blu know if that's possible? Think I should set the songs to random? |
