i will submit though, because right now i'm (a) kicking myself that i didn't submit to city life because there are other shots that (in my mind) are no closer to the challenge topic than mine would've been and (b) i'm having serious score-checking withdrawal symptoms and it's only just after lunch on monday. heeelp! ;)

[i]I didnt see a thread for this so I thought I'd start one.

This seems like a fun one. I have and idea for my shot, but I need some good weather for it, and right now it's supposed to rain all week :( Luckily, I think my idea might work okay in the rain, or I could try the same idea indoors.

I wonder how many figurative interpretations of the challenge we'll see (even though they seem fairly specific about what they mean this week).

If it the picture was done well I would not mark it down for being out of the category.

Uh, you might want to keep that idea quiet. Someone, and I'm not naming that person, might want to actually do that.

the closest any of my underwear gets to transparent is a lot of holes. I call them my 'Holy' drawers...

I thought that was Jim's job. You know... you may start a new cliche.

You could call it "Emperor of North Carolina."

I guess this gives new meaning to the slogan "I do everything in my CCD's" ; )

Gee, John.....if you lay down with just the right light source...you could have had another awesome "shadow" shot as well, ya think?

I'm sorry, JM. I don't think that meets my definition for the challenge.

Yeah, but if JM is using the cheese just as an accessory to...other things...then it won't really be the main subject. And I think that the transparent thing for the transparent challenge ought to be the predominant feature in the photo. So I'm afraid I'd really still have to give him a 1 or a 2 unless he used a clever depth of field to only have the transparent cheese in focus, and if he did that, I'd have to give him only a 3 or 4 for having too many out of focus elements. ;-) ;-)

How did it work out that my attempt to change subject didn't work? :-)

maybe if he also made good use of the holes in swiss cheese as well...that would get my attention...

how large are swiss cheese holes anyway, you think?
