So I thought I may be going crazy. Perhaps I was in a drunken stupor (I don't drink) or even a drawn out high (I don't do drugs either) but I know I am not crazy. This last incident has me convinced (I may be crazy). I commented on someone's photo and left an email address for them to respond. They did (so I KNOW I left the comment.) However, when I go back to the photo, my comment is not there. I checked on a few other things related to this and they all seem to be as I perceive them to be - altered/edited/deleted/removed/whatever. So what is happening here? Why are my comments being deleted? Why are my posts being deleted? Why is it that I post the answer to a question but it is never acknowledged yet Joe Blow three posts down gives the same answer and it is responded to numerous times? Why are the threads I start never posted to? Why are the shots I ask for comments on never commented on or viewed and the threads asking for such disappearing? When I first noticed this I started keeping a log and more than half of the things in this log no longer exist on the site. Why? What am I doing wrong? Am I paranoid or is someone out to get me?

| Not a case of either of those...just seems a lot of things I do at night are not there in the morning. |

Don't worry...I am sure we all have that happen at times. I know many of my posts are ignored....many of my posts disappear. I just put it down to the thin-skinned members who only want things there way and cannot accept others opinions or ideas...even if they are intended in a helpful way.
So don't worry....you are not alone.
Another thing I have found is there are always people on sites that do not like a person for whatever reason and will behave in a manner that is both unbecoming of them and often detrimental to the image/posts of the person that frown upon. I have actually now proved this...but cannot reveal the evidence just yet. More on that later. But regardless...people who behave in that manner are only causing grief for themselves in the long run....whether it be refusing to listen to advice that may save them a lot of time, or missing out on styles that may just open their eyes to many wonderful things in life. But, most importantly, it also shows their true colours....publicly.

Not to sound too dull, but wouldn't this kind of thing be better handled privately and with SC's involvement if it's getting out of hand, instead of publicly calling things out in the forums? You know, 'be the better person' and all that? |

Well then where is the comment I left my email in which was responded to but is not there now? Where is the thread asking for comments/suggestions on a recently uploaded pic? (does not even show up on my profile page and I even bumped it once?) I am at the office so don't have my log here, but the list goes on. There were no less than three threads that completely disappeared, at least 4 posts gone, at least 5 comments gone.
And Scalvert - I do not participate in ANY other photo sites. The stuff I mentioned IS MISSING. The photo is still in the person's profile and the comment I left is GONE.

Could the picture with the comment have been deleted (if in a portfolio) or dq'ed (if in a challenge)?
As far as I can tell, SC hasn't deleted anything, though several of your recently left comments have been edited by the author (you, I presume).

I'm still going with the Crazy theory. Any moment now, you'll think, "Doh! That was a thread or comment on a different photo site." ;-P
As Karma said, I can't see any of your posts deleted or modified on this end. If I search the site for your email address, it returns one thread where your email is no longer listed, but in which you had edited your own post. |
