With the excessive voting on Rusted...I believe there will be (and already is) a shortage of comments, not only on the Rusted photos, but the abstract ones, and on others as well...I've been voting for an hour and i am not up to 20% yet!

Unfortunately the best looking thumbnails will have the most votes and or comments.

Seems like that
Rusted - 81 votes 0 comments
Abstract 128 votes, 15 comments, 14 of those made before Rusted began.

If it weren't for being able to use a DSL connection sometimes, there's NO WAY I would make it. Now I go through quickly and vote on them all, then go back to see if I did a consistent rating as I view them in groups of how I scored them. I will be commenting then, too. I have to really resist the urge to just comment and vote on the thumbnails that look great, too.

I voted on everything last night, it took me ages! I'm trying to commit to comment on at least the lowest rated ones before the end of the challenge. If I do about 10 a night I might get through it...
I really value comments too. Without them you have no idea why people liked or disliked your photo. At the start of the voting for this one I was complaining that I was getting hardly any comments, then I actually started voting and found out how overwhelming it was.
I hope everyone feels that the commitment to helping out each other is worth taking the time to make the comments :) |

102 votes / 6 comments. All the comments came this afternoon. Then again, so did the drop in my score. Go figure. :-)

142 votes / 11 comments, but the score is going steadily down. Earlier challenges has seen the score go up slowly further ahead in the voting process.
But anyway, 11 comments is good stuff for me. Most of them are positive or even asking "how I did". That along with a DQ request must be flattering! :-)
Status below my image is now saying "Thank you for submitting your proof file. Your submission is being reviewed by the administrators and is pending further action". Does anyone know how long that normally takes? The proof has been in for like 24 hours.. |

No worries, I'll just sit back and wait. Just *finally* done with the 443 votes and have managed to get a not so impressive 12 comments in too. I'll bump that figure up a bit later I think, but for now my eyes are (rusted) red and need the rest.
I found myself handing out so many 4's and 5's this round. All them chains.. Think I've nailed both the blue and the brown down though. |

I like to vote on all photos. I try to do it in one sitting, but this time for Rusted I had to divide it up into three (ugh, my hands hurt from mousing!).
Now I'm going to go back and start my comments. I like to comment on at least my top 20 and my bottom 20 and then everything else in between that begs for a comment. I'm hoping to have 75 or so comments done by the end of the week. So fear not, I think most folks are still trying to get through all the entries! It's a big one! |

OK, so I have voted on all the entries in the Rusted challenge. I added comments to all of my 2s, 3s, 8s, 9s, and 10s. Does that sound sufficient to you guys? I have a TON of 4s-7s. I figure the middle of the road votes are usually the ones who have fewer comments, and probably are the ones that need comments the most, but WHEW! This one was a biggie!

200 votes and 19 comments, all pretty positive at that. I must say it's really inspiring to read them all. Makes me wanna try a bit harder for future challenges. I can only imaginge the feeling for those who nail ribbons.
But hm.. I think I've now received more comments than I've given, shame on me and more work tonight.. |
