Always go with the one your family choose, that way you have somebody to blame!

I'm UP to 4.7333 now. If this puppy breaks 5 I'll eat my flash (no it's not a picture of a puppy).

Joe, looking at your score and Kelli's score, both with no votes....it is really high time that Langdon did something about forcing people to leave a comment when they vote 3 or less. Put something in where they have to enter at least 50 characters as a comment if you are voting something 3 or less.

My last abstract challenge was TOO abstract... this one is likely not abstract enough...
Is there no pleasing the voters?

I hope that is a rhetorical question!

I made that suggestion a while back but everyone thought I was crazy and stupid because people like to vote low and not have to waste their time leaving the comment.

I personally think that if you give out a 3 or below you should leave a comment why you thought it sucked but not everyone sees it like that. Just another step that leads me to the door that's all.

That has been one of my "causes" for a long time now, along with making everyone a baghead during voting, since you are not supposed to communicate with a voter about your specific entry anyways, and there are always complaints about nasty messages after someone leaves a vote....so if there is no legit reason to have to know who just left that comment and all it can do is cause problems....why not have everyone be a baghead. Then after voting is over you find out who left the comments and it is no longer heat of the moment so there will be less nastiness that happens in the heat of the moment. Add to those two giving everyone the option of having their images watermarked after voting is over, since they are our images that are being stolen from this site...but do it after voting so the watermark does not affect peoples votes. And make it optional.

edited to correct stupid spelling

However the people out there that simply like to argue then try to run me into the ground every time I try to make those suggestions, all of which would improve this site and help keep people from leaving. Lets face it, people leave when they get ticked off at getting killed with low votes with no explanations, they leave when they get attacked for leaving a comment, and they leave when they get frustrated at having their images appear on the web after being stolen from this site. There are other reasons as well of course, but those are certainly all valid ones as well. But...it will never happen. Only the suggestions of a few closely placed and very opinionated people ever seem to get taken into account for real around here. I love a lot of things about dpc, but there are definately lots of room for improvements that will never be made. :(

I just looked at all of the entries and I think a lot of people are confused. I see a lot of stop action and motion blur. A lot of them are really small to and I think those are the reasons for the one votes if you ask me.

What is weird is this is for "abstracts" and my only comment says they wanted something in the picture to focus on? hahaha.

So I dont think a lot of people knew what to enter or even what to look for. A good reason for the bad scores I guess.

True Agnes. Not understanding the concept of the challenge has never stopped the masses at dpc from voting before! lmao

Mine has just dropped again... actually dropped a full .30 in just 4 votes!

OMG. Mine just dropped to by 2 digits after the dot.

This is I think my worst score ever. Maybe I will add to my colored ribbons the brown if this keeps up. Damn and I have a good abstract dpc friendly entry to.

ETA: Just checked and its not my worst score ever afterall. I guess I am just getting spoiled with the 6s now. hahaha.

Well it's going to be interesting see what wins. I'm afraid that mine is too abstract and that's why it's only middle of the road. Someone else is afraid there's isn't abstract enough...

I know. I dont think people know what to do. I was running through the entries myself and I was saying things to myself like "its abstract but not saying anything to me" or its not pretty or a poor idea or quick idea for just something to throw in. I found about 7 that I liked and that were real abstracts and good ones (well 8 if you count mine...hahha). The rest are just ....bad in my opinion or are not abstracts at all. Ecccch. I really dont like this. At least when I got a really bad score in the personality challenge I knew why. I just had the wrong concept. This is something that I knew the concept of and entered a good abstract so to be tortured for it sucks.

Sorry andrewt but any other time I would say "I hope so to". But because I or basssman7 might be your next victim in the h2h I have to think a tiny bit differently. :=)
