GAWD.... Is there any way we can ask the SC to delete the last part of that comment? Doesn't that fall under the "offensive" category... or even the "goading and inciting" portion of the regulations. Someone please help. :O)

Naw... What it *shows* is that people can misunderstand people, or get misunderstood, then straighten it all out with a little self-deprecating humor, all *without* leaving the site in a major huff.

THAT's what it shows :-)

Well it seems that goodbye message has now gone from his profile...hmmm...actually his whole profile has now gone. Oh well!

He let me! of course he never really liked me either.... but I was a TS'r for well over a year and have been gone now for a few months. You should remember that Jeb, that is how you and I became friends. (nice to see I have not been missed....lol)

I took my turn at getting totally fed up with dpc (for about the 3rd time in my 5 or 6 years), emptied my porfolio, sent a bitchy letter to Langdon for not allowing me to delete my former entries, quit Team Suck and ignored this place for about a month.

But, because they do not have a peer group in my area to help quit dpc, I am back.

It is no wonder that things get out of hand in threads sometimes. Just yesterday I had someone (and I am not going to get into names) attack me (totally unprovoked) and call me an @rsehole. Instead of getting into another dust up, I reported the post as abusive.

The response was that SC removed that particular part of the post. that was it. If they are not going to enforce the idea of no personal attacks by suspending people for doing so, it will only get worse, not better. I now know that next time I am attacked in this way, I will not report the post. I will not call someone names in response, but I will openly take them to task for it, since the SC is not willing to enforce the concept of not making personal attacks.

I make no claims of being an angel, I do get into heated disputes sometimes, but I do not make personal attacks. I attack the person's position or idea, but not the person themself.

Eventually I am sure it will wear me down and make me sick of this place, and as a result, another person will be gone. (not just yet)

I have no issue with people not liking my photos or my ideas and saying so. Just do not resort to name calling, please.

I wish that the SC would suspend those that do the personal attacks and make it known that they have done so. Perhaps then folks would think first. Then there would be many fewer "Grand Exits and Bad Feelings".

I second that!
DPC is like a family and should be treated as such. We love our families, but don't always like them. When I find myself disliking a family member I take a deep breath and remember that I still love them! :)

Firstly, I know nothing about your "case" here, but to state in the forums that you are now going to become a rule-breaker yourself because the SC did not impose the punishment you feel appropriate is not going to help the situation.

If you disagree with an SC action, fill out a Ticket and state your complaint.

I did not ever state I was going to break the rules myself. I will not make personal attacks. I did say that I will take them to task for it, point out that they are breaking the rules, but without making a personal attack.

Interestingly enough, since my last post here I have once again been personally attacked by someone who has done it in the past. I am trying one final time to report a post and get something done.

love is a strange word, and 'i love you' is strange phrase.

Its alright to say -
'i love cats'
'i love dogs'
'i love horses'

'i love ' anything is alright as long as this anything is animal. Try the same thing with humans and results may be nothing short of a disaster.
I found it out hard way. I told my coworker that i love her.
Now not only does she not talk to me, everyone in office thinks i am strange.
'gee you tell this to lady.'. Sometimes i wish if she were a bitch, then it would be alright to say 'i love this bitch'. And this would be alright. Sigh.

Well, you obviously have/had some communication issues if this was the case.

I have many people who I am comfortable telling them that I love them, men and women, and others whom I'd never presume to have them understand, or have it be taken in a proper light.

Either your relationship isn't strong enough for you to have expressed this, or you maybe shouldn't have said this at all.

The workplace is probably one of the most dangerous places to express this kind of sentiment.

Though I do have empathy for your situation, considering the outcome and that it could have been forseen, I don't think it's appropriate to rest the cause of any angst anywhere but squarely on yourself.

It sounds like you are ticked because you wanted someone to be suspended and they were not.

When determining whether to suspend someone for forum actions, we keep the following points in mind: whether the post in question was provoked by an inflammatory act, whether there is a history of prior forum altercations on either or all of the users in question, whether the current situation seems to be spilling into other forum threads or resulting in abusive PM's, and the exact nature of the post in question (ie. "how bad").

If, after your re-considered view of the situation keeping in mind the above points, you'd like a review of the situation by the entire SC you may request one by using the Contact Us link.

It depends....

I have friends that are quite content to be known as bitches, 'cause it means that people will not try to get over on them.

In some circumstances, it's NOT a bad thing.....and if the notion works, then the purpose is accomplished.

In work situations especially, where sometimes chauvinism runs amok, the perception that a woman will not be run over is a good thing.......8>)

HOWEVER.....you better know the person damn well, and be able to take the abuse in return, before you CALL them a bitch.......8>)

My one friend actually smiles and thanks me when I tell her she's SUCH a bitch!

She's a MASTER!!! LOL!!!

Must be a cultural thing - I would find it incredibly insulting and demeaning, as would all the English women I know.
