Alright, its bonus time, and no, I don't work for AIG... Anyway, I'm looking to spend between 500-1000$ for just a tower. Here's what I need to know, I plan to be running CS4 and what specifications do I need for it to run smoothly. Obviously, the more power the merrier, but I find that at some point, enough is enough. Can I get away with a dual core Core2 chip, or do I need a Quad-core? I'd figure that 4 gigs of RAM is enough, but what are your thoughts. Lastly, is a good graphics card important for CS4, I don't really play video games so unless its necessary, I'm not going to spring for it. Thanks in advance

Let's take those questions in order:
- Dual core is just fine. The difference in performance between two cores and four for most apps is minimal. Go with something like the E8500, which is quick, but relatively economical.
- 4GB of ram is adequate, for sure. If you are running a 32-bit OS, any more is irrelevant as it will not get used, in fact anything over about 3.5 GB won't be used. Consider running 64-bit Vista.
- CS4 will use the GPU for image rendering if it is compatible, so you do want to pay attention to your choice of graphics card. An expensive card is not required, however.
