Come on over and watch me get hysterical (in the best possible sense of the word) friend...

Failure to meet the challenge is not against the rules. 2 seconds was the topic, not a rule. |
I'm glad you agree with me that DNMC is not against the rules. I never said it was by any stretch of the imagination.
But it was also the description, not just the topic: "Take a photograph using a shutter speed of exactly 2 seconds." No room for subjective interpretation there.
But you did get it right, there was no flag indicating a DQ if the challenge terms were not met, nor have I said that there should have been (again, you agree with me, smart boy).
I just rightly pointed out that it was a cheap win. |
And the winner was taken to the woodshed over it, in forums and in comments on his image. And DPC added the "flag" rule to any challenge along the same lines afterwards. The 30 second challenge and the current challenge are evidence that the controversy did change policy.
Obviously the issue has been addressed. |
Yep and it's great! |

My mistake. It was that Hawkeye gentleman who posted before you. |
You got one right. My mistake. I meant the 1/2 second shutter speed violated the TERMS of the challenge, which would be correct. |

Well, I set my camera to one second, and it says the exposure was one second ...
I'm just trying to figure out the correlation between a challenge with a mandatory long exposure, and a championship-caliber procrastinator (myself) having the very first entry ... as they say, something is surely very wrong with this picture ... ;-) |

I am expecting the world to stop turning any time now!
I actually agree with Hawkeye that this extra flag is a good thing. Wow. Maybe I will buy a lottery ticket! ;) |
