20% voted on so far and there are very few poor photos. Some are just awesome, which isn't surprising considering they may well be the best photos people have ever taken with a digital camera.

My average score given so far 6.24. Back to the voting then.....

Please don't feel this way! My response was not directed at you! Trust me, there are other voices louder than yours (most in my head, but that's another thread completely). I saw your comments just for what they were, letting off steam. I've done it myself many times.

I have a strong suspicion this is gonna be, in absolute numbers, the lowest finish I've ever recorded :-) I'm gonna finish right around 6.0, probably high 5.9's, and I expect it will take a 6+ to crack the 50th percentile, meaning I'm headed for an absolute number of maybe 600th place, LOL...

I agree. However I keep asking the question (into the wilderness of DPC, where it simply echoes around and never gets heard) as to why everyone is not a baghead during the voting stage? You are not supposed to contact the commentor and bitch or even ask a question about the photo because it may effect your vote. The photo is supposed to stand on it's own. So then why even make it possible for this to happen? There is no upside to having identities available during the voting stage. The photos are presented without names, the votes are given without names, the comments should be too. (until after the challenge voting is over of course)


This is a very good idea. From now on I think I will be one of those "bagheads" when I vote. For the most part people have written me kindly but I did get one yesterday that kind of hurt my feelings.

They took what I meant wrong and told me that I was so rude. :=( Maybe if I have my name turned off they wont do that afterwards either.

Hey Mark - Not picking on you, just happened that your post was the clearest thought on why some are up in arms about the voting record of angkokweng.

I find it interesting that while some want to call out angkokweng, other's on this site can have an average vote cast as low as 3.5804, yet still be recognized by many here as a 'favorite' photographer.

Over a long period, one in particular stands out with having been fav'd as follows.

I guess it's all in the presentation and what you say that gets one flamed and the other applauded?

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but here is my question. If folks do not vote for 20% of the entries in a given challenge, then their votes don't count, right? And do those votes get pulled at rollover? In this challenge particularly, since the number of entries is SO high and 20% represents a whole lot of votes to cast, it seems like that might be a significant risk --- and scores you thought you had at 11:59 PM might change at midnight. Yes?

Works both ways though... also I think a similar number of scores would be pulled that it wouldn't affect your score that much.. besides, it could always go up!! (vino mode on -so if it makes no sense - blame the vino)
