Over a long period, one in particular stands out with having been fav'd as follows.

Selected by other users:
Photographer: 164 times
Photographs: 617 times

I guess it's all in the presentation and what you say that gets one flamed and the other applauded?

Just food for thought.

That is because being picked as a fave either as a photographer or photographs is based on your photography, NOT on your voting pattern. When I see a photo I really like, or if I take it one step further and view that photogs portfolio and I like it, I make it a fave. I do not look at his/her voting stats. If you pick a photo as a fave while voting during a challenge you have no idea who it belongs to anyways.

To me that is like comparing apples to oranges. When I choose a photographer or photo as a fave, it is based on photography, and not on that person's voting stats, those are two totally different things.

I'm sure that many, many people also get favorites based on personality as well.

Even though my score isn't very good, the comments I'm getting are wonderful. Never had so many comments before. :)

Without a doubt, that is another reason. ( except for me cause I am an asshat sometimes ;) )

Yah, me too. Only 20 faves for me. I'm too outspoken.

oh boy.

Now I feel bad. I was just whining last night when I was talking about my score and my comments pointing out what I did purposely to the image... Nobody's individual comments have been offensive or rude, and I truly appreciate every single one of them. It does help me know why people are voting the way they are.

I do realize that it's more important that I like my own work, and that I stay true to myself and my style - this matters more than a score.

Whew. Ok, so nobody has offended me and I'm thankful for all the comments - i was just whining about my low score! :)

Angkok's voting history 5 minutes ago:
Votes Cast: 1,247
Avg Vote Cast: 3.3280

FYI - apples and basketballs - the first is his vote received, not anything he has cast; the second is his voting history. No relationship between the two over a 24 hour period.

Thanks. I did actually misread that. My bad. I don't know how I got that mixed up. I guess I got a little derailed by the 3.32 avg vote cast and my eyes jumped a bit too quickly.

Sadly, the point that his average vote given was lower than the score for someone else's image who was dissatisfied is just... uhmm. well.. anyhow...

Yeah ang, I misquoted your stats. Sorry about that. I got something mixed up and stated that your average vote given was 3.98 at some previous point in the past 24 hours. If in fact you didn't vote on this challenge (and I can believe that now that I looked a bit closer), then your average vote has been 3.3 ish for quite some time.

Sorry about misquoting your stats. It seems that my erroneous statement about your 3.98 average vote cast was too good to be true.

voted the whole challenge. now it's just a matter of bumping up the 7s and narrowing it down to my ribbons.

My score keeps going down, but finally people are commenting on the photo instead of just the subject matter. Now I at least know why my score is below a 5. :)

At first I didn't agree with the first few people that stated what they didn't like about my image - I thought it looked great on my monitor. But after the 5th person made the same comment, I finally went back and played with the photo again. And they were all correct on their assessment, although I do think that it shows up quite differently on some monitors. I liked the photo before, but I like it better now that I've made some changes to it. So while I am disappointed in my score, I do appreciate the honest feedback.

Try this one more time. Every time I get to 5.8 and post it here, it drops right back down to 5.7. So we'll see if I can break that trend this time.
