ROFLMAO! Its funny in a way, this same picture is hanging in the county court house because it won the local peoples choice awards... Don't get me wrong there are some just amazing great shots in this. But a score like this on a free study on a shot like this... Its disheartening. I should have listened to my good friend in real life  Gatorguy about his feelings of this site. Sad... |
Now get everyone in the whole county to cast a ballot on whether or not your photo should continue to hang in the county court house, and you'll probably end up not seeing it up there anymore ;)
Context is key. The mistake is thinking that success/failure outside of DPC will translate to success/failure within DPC.
*EDIT* I missed the "people's choice" awards thing, so expand that to the whole state ;)

Heh, I enter blur and I get hit with a ton of 3s and 4s. I enter a "dpc-friendly" sharp and purdy shot, I still get hit with 3s and 4s. Make up yer fricken minds people!
Should have entered blur in this one, at least I could have somewhat understood the low votes, but noooooo... |

Please don't assume low votes are paired with good comments. Many people are commenting without voting or voting and comming back to comment.
Enjoy your possitive comments and don't worry about the score. In a challenge like this there will be MANY wonderful images lost somewhere in the middle of the final ranking. |

I have recieved the most wonderful comments. Thank you to all out there that are commenting a bunch. I have started (making comments)....don't think I will comment on all....but I have set a goal of 20%. |

I finished my first pass at voting ands now I need to go back and adjust and comment on a few.
As for my score I expected a bit better but with this many entries and looking at the quality of some I can't complain. Thanks to those making all the great comments.

| Im wondering if some people dont drink a glass of hater-ade before sitting down to rate pics. I never let the score my pic is getting influence the score i give. Each shot gets a clean slate and isnt compared to another. |

Yah, I almost hit 5.9 again earlier today, and am now barely holding a 5.75.
*edit* Also, I think too many people are trying to shotgun vote right now. Which I think might lead to a lot of early, higher scores, but then anything that falls into the "man, I'm tired of this voting thing" are going to go to the rapid-fire fives.

I didnt take part in this one (I know). But I did vote on all of them (100%). It took very long. Tomorrow, I will revisit them all and start commenting.

I'm only 18% (198 images) of the way through voting and I've already found 12 worthy of 10. I am by no means an overly generous voter either and am not afraid to use the entire 1-10 scale. In fact, my average given so far is only 5.7.
There are some extraordinarily wonderful, funny and charming images in this challenge. If you have time, please do look again :) |

Maybe I should keep my mouth shut, but I haven't given any 10's in the 12% I've done. Not that some of them might not get bumped on second pass... but my average vote so far is 6.7. Does that mean I should bump up a few of my 9's and bump down a lot of my others? :) |
