This comment may have been meant to be funny but it is on target. I left a comment that explains further.

I try to be both, as often as possible.

Nothing wrong with that. A good balance of fun and work is always necessary.

I'm curious as to what exactly you may have been trying to convey with this image. I think that a lot of users are unaware that mewithoutYou is a band as is Apocalyptica. I could read into this photo a ton, but on the surface, I was wondering if you were just showing your favorite bands...

I didn't know it was a band. I listen to the twangy stuff. I took it as a post-apocolypse vision of some sort.

Ah! Me too (not the twangy stuff; I also didn't know it was a band). I'd already left another comment anyway, but now I begin to suspect that mewithoutyou must use the stylish armpit-gasmask motif in the same way the Rolling Stones used the big red lips.

I think the problem is that it is of an armpit... generally not something considered lovely.
Generally more an icky, stinky kind of reaction... especially when it is hairy and so prominent in the shot.
Oh and whenever there are words in an image, people want to read the words and tend not to see the picture

The technical aspects of the the image are fine, it is the composition that doesn't make it. There are at least two distractions in the image that detract, the body art, and the hairy armpit. There is no context reference, that is no situation posed that explains the arm position, it is much like a medical examination photo, in other words, uninteresting. If the image included a flying flower pot that the arm was raised against then it would be interesting!
