I want one! Where did you get it from?
Ran in to a guy who had the kit for a number of years and never got around to putting it together... Of course, Bender is no longer in business. Now, if I can only find a guy with an unbuilt 8x10 kit!

Congratulations on your finished Bender. It looks like you did a very good job building it. Now you need a focusing cloth and a few film holders and a box of 4x5 film. Do you have a dark room or some one to process the negs? |

Thanks! Yes.. I can process at home. Have to clean up my mess from this project before I can give it a go ("or else" I am told..)

Who can keep up with you, Tom?! It's always interesting to see what you have up your sleeve. Can't wait to see what this can do...
A recent "shot" from my homemade cardboard/duct tape 35mm pinhole camera.

The purists among us will hate me for it (a real TLR doesn't take 35mm film), but I've had my eye on this for a while:

Here's the result of my first push experiment:
Agfa APX 400 shot and developed at ISO 3200!
I'll be gone for about ten days to be part of a semi-professional movie production team who are filming a "fictional documentary" using the 5dMK2 and I'll be camera assistent! Yay!
Gonna drag my Mamiya along so hopefully I'll come up with some interesting shots from the set, too.
Keep it up everybody! |

I found an Argus C3 at a thrift store - looks just like that first picture, with no hot shoe. Tried it out. Works best in bright light, and with "at a distance" kind of shots. Haven't tried people, per se, but closeups of flowers and such were quite miserable failures, as were handheld attempts at lowish light. Still, kinda fun to try!
At any rate, it doesn't appear to have a light leak, which is nice. And as an added bonus, it had a roll of film in it when I bought it. The film had been rewound. I sent it off to the one (1) place in the US that still does K-14 Kodachrome slide processing. (That place is Dwayne's Photo in Kansas, if anyone else needs this. And they'll quit doing K-14 later this year, I believe.) |

You've upgraded, Deb -- good for you! Glad to see you shooting film (again). I still have fun with this cheapish thing, the twin cousin of what I sent you. For example:

Well now that I know the Argus works, I need to go buy film. Some for the Argus, and some for my plastic toy. By the way, the Argus has the build, feel, and true heft of a brick. Weighs a ton!
Oh, and I paid full price for it, too - $17!

First use of my £15 Yashica-Mat TLR, really happy with the results, will be using this camera a lot more.

I found a Yashica-MAT dumped on a doorstep in Brooklyn recently. It was in perfect condition too. |

I am going to try solarizing/sabitiering some film tomorrow. I'm going to use an enlarger for illumination and do a test strip just like i would with a print. Wish me luck lol |

Well i did a bit of experimenting and for the roll of film i just tacked it down to the ground and exposed it to the overhead lights for 5 seconds. This was after developing for 7 minutes, i developed for another 3 afterward. The roll ended up being a little to dense and maybe 2-3 seconds would work better next time. Its a good thing i bracketed + and - 1 stop because each exposure turned out way different. The darkest shadows turned into highlights as expected but the difference in one stop is crazy. I will scan the contact sheet and some film... maybe tonight |

Here's one scanned. Tri-x 400 film. I scanned it in color negative mode cause the film has distinctive colors for positive and negative areas which I like. |
